FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Perfect Game Junior National Showcase and Perfect Game National Showcase will run consecutively Sunday, June 14 through Monday, June 22 at the JetBlue Player Development Complex, the state-of-the-art Grapefruit League spring training home of the Boston Red Sox.

The PG Jr. National Showcase will be held June 14-16 and welcomes 180 of the country’s top prospects that are incoming high school juniors or sophomores. The PG National Showcase, the nation’s most prestigious amateur baseball showcase event for incoming high school seniors, will follow with its six-day run June 17-22. More than 320 prospects from the high school class of 2016 are expected.

Both events will be heavily attended by college coaches and recruiters from across the country, and hundreds of scouts and front office personnel from all 30 Major League Baseball organizations will be in attendance at the PG National Showcase.

The two showcases will be covered extensively on the Perfect Game website (
www.perfectgame.org) and other outlets such as MLB.com, Baseball America, Baseball Prospectus and SiriusXM MLB Radio. Nike, a world leader in the production of athletic apparel, will provide gear to the participants in both events.

This is the 15th
 annual Perfect Game National Showcase and it’s the second straight year it will be staged at Fort Myers’ JetBlue Park, known locally as Fenway South. Seventeen of the 18 games will be streamed live by Jock Jive Sports on www.perfectgame.org. The exception is Game 13 which will be broadcast on MLB.com at 8 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, June 21.

The rosters for this year’s 13
th annual Perfect Game All-American Classic will be constructed primarily with prospects attending the PG National. The PG All-American Classic Selection Show announcing the complete rosters will be broadcast on MLB.com live from the MLB All-Star Game Fan Fest in Cincinnati on Monday, July 13.

The PG All-American Classic will be televised live on the MLB Network, streamed live on MLB.com and broadcast live on MLB Radio from Petco Park in San Diego at 5 p.m. (PDT) on Sunday, Aug. 16.

Already, 203 alumni of the event have made their major league debuts, including 2015 call-ups Kris Bryant (2009 National) and Addison Russell (2011) with the Chicago Cubs, Lance McCullers (2011) and Carlos Correa (2011) with the Houston Astros and Joey Gallo (2011) with the Texas Rangers.

Other prominent PG National alumni that have reached the big-leagues include Eric Hosmer (2007, Kansas City Royals), Madison Bumgarner (2006, San Francisco Giants), Andrew McCutchen (2004, Pittsburgh Pirates), Buster Posey (2004, San Francisco Giants), Justin Upton (2003-04, San Diego Padres) and Prince Fielder (2001, Texas Rangers).

Six PG National Showcase alumni have been selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB June Amateur First-Year Player Draft: Upton (2003-04) in 2005; Tim Beckham (2007) in 2008; Gerrit Cole (2007) in 2011; Carlos Correa (2011) in 2012, and Mark Appel (2008) in 2013.

In all, 219 alumni have been either first-round or first-round compensation picks and over 1,600 former participants have been drafted since the 2002 MLB draft. Nearly 3,100 former National players made college commitments.

Thirteen PG Jr. National alumni have made big-league debuts since the event’s inception in 2006, including the 2015 call-ups Russell, Gallo and McCullers from 2010; Washington Nationals’ All-Star outfielder Bryce Harper was at the 2008 PG Jr. National. Two-hundred-and-twenty-seven former Jr. National players have been drafted and more than 870 committed to college programs.
