11u Championship Recap: Day 4

It was do-or-die on Sunday as teams entered the single elimination round of the PG Super25 11u National Championship. Only four teams will continue their quest for the championship after a thrilling day four. Here’s a recap of Sunday’s quarterfinal action:

Vipers Baseball lived up to their billing as the #1 seed in their 17-3 thrashing of the East Cobb Braves. The game was never in doubt after the Vipers scored sixteen runs in the opening two innings. Lorenzo Carrier, Jacob Blair, and Conor Ellingsworth abused the Braves’ pitchers with six home runs and fifteen RBIs in a short four inning contest.

ProScouting Elite MVP had no answer for the East Cobb Astros’ Dylan Lesko, who fanned four batters in a complete game shutout. Brynen Wilkins supplied the only runs of the game with a two-run bomb in the second inning. With their 2-0 win over ProScouting Elite, the Astros qualified for the semifinal round.

The BC Phenom unloaded on the Mizuno TGBA Aces with a trio of home runs. The Phenom's Breiley Polanco was a force to be reckoned with on the mound and at the plate. He allowed one run in five innings of work, but he more than made up for it with a third inning grand slam. Nick Martinez and Generoso Romano also went yard as the Phenom rocked the Aces 11-1.

Monday’s semifinal bouts will begin tomorrow morning at 11:15. The BC Phenom and the Vipers will collide on Field 7, while the Dallas Texans-Lowe and the East Cobb Astros will duke it out on Field 8.
