2018 Top Prospects

Jacob Burton  RHP - 2018 - Diana, TX
Arkansas

Quite possibly displayed more tools than anyone all weekend. Burton had velocities that were near the top of both the infield and outfield leaders. His 85 MPH fastball combined with his slider kept hitters off balance and tallied up several strikeouts. Also can run putting up a 6.67 60 yard dash time. Very interesting follow as he continues to grow and develop.

The 5'9" 175 pound Tennessee native proved himself in both workouts and games. 87 MPH from the outfield and has the tools offensively showing lift and quickness in his barrel with some strength coming off the barrel when squared up. Clear standout on the field.

Had a monster weekend at the plate. Not only did Hammit swing with authority, but he connected in what seemed like all of his at bats blasting two over the fence and two others into the gap in the six hits he totaled. Can flat out hit.

The Minnesota kid could do it on both the offensive and defensive end. The switch hitter showed a very advanced approach at the plate for his age. His footwork and defensive actions behind the dish were even more impressive.

Had a great weekend at the dish and on the bump. Kept hitters off balance between an 83 MPH fastball and a 75 MPH slider. At the plate, displayed raw power for such a young age with a home run in Sunday's game. Should be a fun player to watch as he develops.

Projects very well moving forward and already has a strong athletic build. He laced balls to all fields in batting practice and games and was also able to show some good potential on the mound topping out at 81 MPH.
