2014 Top Prospects

Jakob Pacheco  SS - 2014 - Emmaus, PA
Uncommitted

Pacheco showed good tools across the board, throwing 88 MPH from the OF, 86 across the IF, running a 7.20 60 yard dash, as well as taking a quality, professional BP. He showed the ability to hit line drives to all fields with solid strength off the barrel.

2016 Top Prospects

Kyle McMullen  RHP - 2016 - Jupiter, FL
Florida State/Palm Beach State

The highly projectable righty was very good in this event, working in the mid-80's consistently and topping at 87 MPH from an easy, clean delivery. The fastball shows heavy life down in the zone, and he complemented the offering well with a quality slider in the upper-70's.

Darnell Domenech  C - 2016 - LoĆza, PR
Uncommitted

Domenech took one of the best catcher workouts of the event, staying low and exploding out of his crouch into quick feet, popping 1.81 seconds with above average arm strength. A switch-hitter, he also showed feel for the barrel from both sides with good smoothness and strength in his swing.

Austin Adams  OF - 2016 - Fayetteville, GA
Uncommitted

Adams showed off plus speed, running a 6.58 60 yard dash, and followed that up with good performances in the OF and with the bat. He threw 86 MPH from the OF, and then did a good job barreling balls to all fields when hitting with projectable strength and overall feel.

Francisco Ramos  OF - 2016 - Orlando, FL
Uncommitted

Ramos looks the part of a future power-hitting corner outfielder, with legitimate bat speed and present strength in his swing that will only continue to develop as he gets stronger. His swing is lofted and geared for power, and he showed consistent ability to drive the baseball.

Frank Pena  OF - 2016 - Homestead, FL
Uncommitted

Pena ran very well at 6.91 seconds, threw very well from the OF at 85 MPH, and showed very good strength when hitting. He swings the bat hard with serious intent, and looks to do damage. Despite being a max effort swinger, he shows ability to control the barrel and hit the ball to all fields, as well.

Trenton Davis  C - 2016 - Arden, NC
Campbell

Davis took one of the more impressive batting practice rounds of the event, showing a consistently leveraged, consistently powerful left-handed swing that resulted in several deep, high fly balls. He has HR power to the pull field. He also popped 2.13 seconds when catching and showed quality arm strength.

Matthew DiMemmo  2B - 2016 - St. Charles, MO
Missouri Western State

DiMemmo showed quality tools across the board, and profiles very well at 2nd base. He has active, quick feet and stays low where his quality hand actions work well. At bat, he has quick hands to and though the zone and is consistently on time with the barrel, resulting in the ability to hit hard line drives all over the field.

Caleb Ricca  SS - 2016 - Prairieville, LA
Northwestern State

Ricca took a very good round of infield, showing clean actions with range and hands, following his solid 60 time of 6.81 seconds. He's also a successful switch hitter, with quick hands and good barrel control from both sides of the plate with the ability to use the whole field. Profiles very well as a line drive contact hitter who gets on base at a high level.

Orlando Ortiz  RHP - 2016 - Kissimmee, FL
Uncommitted

Ortiz's body and arm action both really project, leading us to believe that he has a good amount of velocity projection remaining. He already works in the low-mid 80's with good arm speed and solid command to go along with heavy FB life, and he rounds out his arsenal with a sharp, late-breaking curveball that can miss bats.

Yasnier Laureano  RHP - 2016 - Anderson, SC
Uncommitted

Laureano looked good in several facets of the game during the event, with one of the most highly-projectable frames of the entire event at 6'5" 170. He ran his fastball up to 83 with good life, creating excellent plane from his height, and has some crossfire deception as well. He showed good feel for his deep, sharp CB and flashed the ability to turn over the CH as well.

Fausto Lopez  SS - 2016 - Saint Cloud, FL
Troy

Lopez showed quality athleticism and defensive prowess during the event, with good range to both sides and quality arm strength. He ran the 60 in 6.77 seconds, and showed a good contact-driven approach when hitting, with good flow in his swing as well as above-average barrel control.

Stephen Cochrane  OF - 2016 - East Haven, CT
Eastern Connecticut State

Cochrane showed solid tools in all facets, running a 6.90 60 and showing clean, easy actions in the outfield. He fields cleanly and works through it with efficient movements, and his arm strength projects. Shows good bat speed with ability to use all fields when hitting, as well, and should develop more power as he adds strength to his frame.

Andrew Rodriguez  1B - 2016 - Midlothian, IL
Uncommitted

Rodriguez showed good potential both with the glove at 1st base as well as with the power in his bat. He's smooth on his feet when playing defense and shows solid agility, and also shows the ability to truly hammer baseballs when on time. While inconsistent, his raw power flashes the potential to be very good.

Free Agents Top Prospects

Osvaldo Corona  LHP - Free Agents - Mexico City, DF MEX

Corona is a highly projectable left-handed pitching prospect who showed well during this event. His body projects very well and he should easily add velocity as he gets stronger. He already understands pitchability and sequencing, mixing and matching his projectable 3-pitch mix to keep hitters off balance.

Travvis Ferguson  SS - Free Agents - Nassau, NW BHS
Post

Ferguson ran well, posting a 6.96 60 yard dash time, and followed that up by impressing defensively both in the outfield and infield. He shows agility and quickness throughout his movements and has clean actions in both spots, then threw 85 MPH from the OF and 81 MPH across the IF with projectable arm speed.
