7 Aflac All Americans Named to Futures Roster

The 2009 Futures Game will feature 7 former Aflac All Americans on the 25 man roster for the USA. The 2009 Futures Game will be held in St. Louis on July 12. featuring some of the top prospects in the Minor Leagues.

Former Aflac players include the following

Brett Wallace (Cardinals)
Brett is playing for AAA Memphis. He is hitting .282 with 9 homeruns and 26 RBI this year.

Jason Heyward (Braves)
Jason is playing for Myrtle Beach in the Carolina League. He is hitting .297 with 10 homeruns and 28 RBI this year.

Josh Vitters (Cubs)
Josh is playing for Peoria in the Midwest League. He is hitting .315 with 15 homeruns and 45 RBI this year.

Chris Tillman (Orioles)
Chris is playing for AAA Norfolk. He is 5-5 with a 2.97 ERA, 75 Ks in 72 IP this year.

Madison Bumgarner (Giants)
Madison is playing for AA Connecticut. He is 8-2 with a 1.79 ERA, 65 Ks and 16 BB this year.

Kyle Drabek (Phillies)
Kyle is playing for AA Reading. He is 8-1 with a 2.46 ERA, 100 Ks in 95 IP this year.

Matthew Latos (Padres)
Mat is playing for AA San Antonio. He is 7-1 with a 1.28 ERA, 65 Ks in 63 IP this year.

Note: 21 of the 25 players on the USA Futures roster have played in Perfect Game events. Maybe even more surprising is that several of the players on the World roster have played in Perfect Game events also.
