No. 3 Tennessee at No. 7 Kentucky

The Volunteers (31-6) are in 2nd place in the SEC East but are a distant 4-games behind their foe this weekend. They have won 7 in a row and 9 of their last 10 heading into Lexington and are only (3-3) in true road games this season. They lead the nation with 101 home runs as a team and are solid on the mound. The Wildcats (31-5) are probably the best story in college baseball this season as they sit atop the SEC with a (14-1) record. They just seem to find ways to win and are an outstanding (16-2) at home. The home teams have had a massive advantage in league play this year and I think Kentucky wins the series and expands their lead in the East.

Cozy’s Pick: Kentucky

A top 10 SEC matchup goes down in Lexington as the big story here is Kentucky out to a 14-1 start in conference play as they welcome the Vols. Tennessee has the power advantage here but Kentucky fields it well and does a good job working counts. This will be a highly competitive series but I think the Vols have enough to go on the road and win two of three.

Vin's Pick: Tennessee

No. 7 Florida State at No.13 Wake Forest

The Seminoles (30-6) have won 8 of 10 and are just 1-game out of first place in the ACC Atlantic. They have one of the most prolific offenses in the nation and a pitching staff full of strikeout artists. Their first venture into the Carolinas in conference play didn’t go so well but they surely learned from that weekend. The Demon Deacons (24-12) have overcome a tough start in ACC play to get themselves back to .500 with a (9-9) record. Their high-octane offense has awakened but there are still some questions when they get into their bullpen. This series comes down to who can get outs at the end of the game, and it seems like Florida State has more options.

Cozy’s Pick: Florida State

There might not be a hotter hitter alive right now than Nick Kurtz who has led a Wake Forest resurgence since he got healthy as the Deacons welcome a top ten Florida State team to town. The ‘Noles are dealing with a thin pitching staff and the combination of ballpark and Wake’s firepower leads me to believe that this will be a high scoring series and one that Wake can out-slug two of three in.

Vin's Pick:
Wake Forest

No. 10 North Carolina at NC State

The Tarheels (29-8) hold a 3-game lead in the ACC Coastal and just lost their 23-game home win streak in the midweek to Coastal. They have incurred some injuries on their pitching staff this season and have a sub-.500 record away from Chapel Hill. Offensively, they score almost 9 runs per game and the warm weather could have the ball jumping in Raleigh. The Wolfpack (20-14) is coming off a huge series win at Clemson and are only 2.5-games out of the ACC Atlantic Division lead. The bullpen has really come into form in the last few weeks and was a strength for them last weekend. If they get their weekend rotation back and healthy they could continue to make a push up the ACC standing. This will most likely be an offensive series and NC State has done well at home.

Cozy’s Pick: NC State

The Tar Heels are playing like a top ten team in the country but records tend to get thrown out the window with an in-state matchup against rival NC State. This series will feature a lot of back and forth but I think the reliability of UNC’s bullpen this season will be the edge they need.

Vin's Pick: North Carolina

No. 17 Louisiana at No. 22 Coastal Carolina

The Ragin’ Cajuns (30-9) hold a robust 5-game lead in the Sun Belt and ran off 16-wins in a row at one point. They boast one of the best pitching staffs in the nation and have played very well on the road. However, the ballpark in Conway, SC plays different than most any in the nation and favors hitters to say the least. The Chanticleers (24-11) are coming off a big mid-week victory in Chapel Hill where they ended the Tarheels 23-game home win streak. This club is built for life in Spring Brooks Stadium as seen by their over .500 SLG% as a team. The pitching staff has developed nice depth and length in the bullpen, which will be key. Louisiana is one of the hottest teams in the nation but Coastal just plays well at home and should gain ground in the league this weekend.

Cozy’s Pick: Coastal Carolina

The Cajuns are one of the hottest teams in the nation as though their win streak was snapped they still have a big Sun Belt series win streak dating back to last year. Louisiana’s pitching has been unbelievable this season and the depth of their arms gives them the advantage on the road.

Vin's Pick: Louisiana

UConn at Georgetown

The Huskies (17-18) are trending in the right direction after a brutally tough road schedule through February and March. They started the year (3-9) but are in the midst of their best stretch of success to this point in the season and are in 2nd place in the Big East. If they get to the last half of the game with the lead, they have the advantage over most clubs with their bullpen. The Hoyas (26-10) are off to a program best (8-1) start in conference play as they hold a 2.5 game lead in the standings. They slug the ball at almost a .500 rate and feature arguably the best bullpen in the league. This series could decide the regular season crown in the Big East and Georgetown, with their home field advantage should hold serve.

Cozy’s Pick: Georgetown

The Hoyas have been a fantastic story in the Big East, starting out 8-1 in conference as they host one of the conference’s most consistent programs. UConn has looked vulnerable this season for your typical UConn team and this looks like the chance for Georgetown to make their stamp on the conference with a big series win.

Vin's Pick: Georgetown

UNCW at Northeastern

The Seahawks (24-13) sit atop the Coastal Athletic Association standing at (10-2) so far. They have flexed their muscle in mid-week games lately with 3-consecutive victories over Coastal Carolina, NC State and Wake Forest. Offensively, they are one of the best hitting teams in the country and can really slug in the middle of the lineup. The Huskies (27-9) are only 1-game back of UNCW in the regular season standings and are glad to be home where they’ve only played 10 games and are (9-1) so far. They have already swiped (99) bases and are one of the most disciplined offenses around. This will be an unbelievable battle and the little things will determine the winner and Northeastern at home is as tought as they come.

Cozy’s Pick: Northeastern

This is a matchup of the two top teams in the CAA in terms of record as the Seahawks head on the road to take on Northeastern. The Huskies have been playing really good baseball but I like UNCW’s star power here to go on the road and steal two games to remain atop the CAA.

Vin's Pick: UNCW
