Orange Coast Retains No. 1 Ranking
Perfect
Game will unveil its list of the nation’s Top 100 junior-college
prospects for the 2012 draft later this week, and not surprisingly it
will be dominated by two teams: California’s Orange Coast College,
which has been the No. 1-ranked team in the country for the last
month, and Texas’ Howard College, the nation’s top-ranked club to
begin the 2012 season.
Both
clubs could have as many as five or six prospects
apiece on the list, including multiple players that could crack the
top 10 rounds. It will also be heavily dominated by teams that are
prominently represented in Perfect Game’s current ranking of the
nation’s Top 50 junior-college teams.
Led
by Orange Coast (29-4) at No. 1, the next four spots remain the same
as two weeks ago as junior-college teams around the country gear up
for post-season play, which will begin for most clubs in the first
week of May. No. 2 Iowa Western (43-1), No. 3 Walters State of
Tennessee (42-6), No. 4 Howard (35-8) and No. 5 Polk State of Florida
(40-9) follow Orange Coast in the rankings.
