Perfect Game Staff Mock Draft

We here at Perfect Game have long discussed conducting our own staff mock draft while assigning 30 people to serve as the 30 individual scouting directors for each MLB team.  We are finally putting this idea to action early next week, and will take our respective turns in selecting who we feel are the best players at their respective slots while going 10 rounds deep.

While this exercise is for entertainment purposes (including our own), we feel our expertise would serve us well if we actually did have a pick (or 30) in the draft.  Because our role in the baseball community is to evaluate talent, signability was not weighed in most cases.  Some of the staff assigned scouting directors plan to use their team's current and recent history into consideration (i.e. college vs. high school) when making picks, others simply will take the players they felt had the best chance at making contributions at the next level regardless of their background.

We will assemble in our own war room here in Cedar Rapids, and the picks will be released as they are made, so be sure to check back to Perfect Game frequently.  The draft will begin at 1:00 pm central time today, Monday, May 21.  Follow all of the picks as they're made here:
