Baseball Speed Guidelines

In-Season Guidelines for Baseball-Speed

 Train for Speed by running at Game-Speed. (Don’t over-emphasize conditioning & speed-endurance).

  Always do speed-work before leg-strength training.

  Allow full-recovery for hip & leg muscles between drills (1-2 min).

  Emphasize good form & technique (Quality vs. Quantity).


POSITION PLAYERS

  2 DAYS PER-WEEK ON NON-CONSECUTIVE DAYS.

  TOTAL SPRINT-VOLUME SHOULD NOT EXCEED 400 YDS PER- WORKOUT (REPS SHOULD NOT EXCEED 40 YDS)

  REST : WORK RATIO SHOULD BE 5:1


PITCHERS

  AVOID, NOT WORTH INJURY-RISK
