In many years, South Carolina’s Nick Ciuffo (pronounced “shoe-pho”) would be celebrated as the top catching prospect nationally in his high school class. Ciuffo is currently ranked 18th in the Perfect Game 2013 class rankings, significantly higher than the top 2012 catcher, Clint Coulter (No. 31) or the highest ranked 2010 receiver, Kellen Deglan (No. 38).

But that 18th overall ranking only puts the Perfect Game All-American fourth in the 2013 class behind Reese McGuire (10th), Jon Denney (11th) and Zack Collins (14th).
