2013 Prospects

Conyal Cody – LHP/1B – 6-2/200 – Pacific Grove, CA – Cody pitched at 83-87 MPH with his fastball from a loose arm action.  He has a smooth easy delivery and his fastball has run to it.  Cody also swung the bat well showing good bat speed with some juice.

Jared Donahoe – OF – 6-1/195 – Mission Viejo, CA – Donahoe ran a 6.95 and threw 81 MPH from the outfield.  He showed good bat speed and some power potential at the plate.


2014 Prospects

Scott Hurst – OF – 6-0/175 – Glendora, CA – Hurst showed the best overall tools of anyone at the event.  He ran a 6.59, threw 97 MPH from the outfield, and 91 MPH across the infield.  He also swung the bat very will in game and BP.  Hurst showed good power to the pull side and good hitting tools overall.  High level player!

Jake Nix – RHP – 6-3/200 – Los Alamitos, CA – Nix pitched at 91-94 MPH with his fastball showing excellent arm speed.  His arm works well and the ball comes out clean.  Nix showed a clean delivery with a good curveball at 75 MPH.

Sean Bouchard – 3B – 6-3/185 – San Diego, CA – Bouchard showed big time tools running a 6.83 and throwing 90 MPH across the infield.  He showed a good swing with good bat speed and juice.  Bouchard hit 2 HR’s in BP at the spacious Southwester College field and showed more power potential in there.

Tyler Megill – RHP – 6-5/195 – Huntington Beach, CA – Megill pitched at 86-89 MPH with his fastball with good extension and leverage in his delivery.  He threw a  hard spinning curveball at 73 MPH with good bite to it.  He also flashed a change up at 81 MPH.

Jayson Rose – RHP/2B – 6-0/168 – Alpine, CA – Rose pitched at 87-89 MPH with his fastball touching 90 MPH.  He generates good arm speed and has an explosive delivery to the plate.  He also flashed a good change up at 78 MPH.  Rose also showed good bat speed at the plate with hard line drive contact.  Solid two-way guy.

Jonathan Teaney – RHP – 6-1/165 – Palmdale, CA – Teaney pitched at 87-89 MPH with his fastball from a two piece arm action.  He throws a tight curveball at 76 MPH with 12/6 action to it.  He has projectable arm strength with some pitchability.

Kiko Garcia – RHP – 6-1/185 – Chula Vista, CA – Garcia pitched at 85-87 MPH with his fastball topping out at 88 MPH.  He gets good downhill action on his fastball and has a clean delivery.  Garcia throws 3 pitches for strikes with pitchability.

Armett Johnson – OF – 6-2/197 – Los Angeles, CA – Johnson ran an impressive 6.62 in the sixty.  He showed good bat speed with quick hands at the plate.  He also showed good raw power with more power potential in there.  Raw player with a lot of upside.

Aaron Ping – SS – 6-1/190 – San Diego, CA – Ping threw 85 MPH across the infield with carry.  He showed good actions and hands defensively and made a ton of plays in the games portion.  He showed good hitting tools and made consistent hard contact. 

Nick Cardinale – RHP – 6-1/170 – Henderson, NV – Cardinale pitched at 85-88 MPH with his fastball from a long loose arm action.  The ball comes out of his hand well and the velocity projects.  He also threw a good slider at 75mph.

Tommy Wilson – RHP – 6-2/215 – Encino, CA – Wilson pitched at 83-87 MPH with his fastball with a long two piece arm action.  He has arm speed with projectable velocity.  He also threw a 12/6 curveball with some depth to it and a change up at 77 MPH.

Brett Weisberg – 3B/RHP – 6-2/190 – Rancho Palos Verdes, CA – Weisberg showed arm strength across the diamond up to 85 MPH.  His best tool is the bat where he has a simple balanced swing with good bat speed and quick hands.  He also has power with more power potential.  Weisberg also pitched at 80-85 MPH with his fastball and threw his slider for strikes.  Interesting two-way guy.

Jordan Abernathy – 3B – 6-0/190 – La Verne, CA – Abernathy threw well from the outfield with velocity up to 85 MPH.  His best tool is the bat as he showed good bat speed with a good swing path.  He has some juice and power potential as well.

John “Jack” Jeffries – 1B – 6-2/191 – Scottsdale, AZ – Jeffries showed arm strength up to 85 MPH from the outfield and he showed nice hands at 1B.  The bat is his best tool showing quick hands with some power potential and bat speed.

Cheynne Giles – OF – 6-1/160 – San Diego, CA – Giles ran a 6.95 and threw 86 MPH from the outfield.  He showed solid actions with projectable arm strength.  Giles also showed projectable hitting tools with bat speed.  He has a good path to the baseball with some pop and he made hard contact to the pull side.

Andy Cosgrove – C – 6-2/185 – Kirkland, WA – Cosgrove showed good catch and throw tools in the workout popping a 1.93 with 78 MPH arm strength.  He also showed projectable hitting tools with good bat speed.  Interesting versatile player.

Jaiden France – SS/3B – 6-3/195 – Santa Clarita, CA – France showed good defensive tools on the infield with arm strength up to 82 MPH.  He showed good hitting tools at the plate with bat speed and a good swing path.  He also showed some juice with power potential.

Jack Poulsen – RHP – 6-3/175 – Pasadena, CA – Poulsen pitched at 83-85 MPH with his fastball with a lean projectable build.  He showed a smooth delivery and repeated well.  Poulsen showed a good slider at 78 MPH as well.

Luke Hussung – OF – 6-3/200 – Studio City, CA – Hussung ran a 6.93 and threw 85 MPH from the outfield.  He showed athletic actions in the outfield with projectable velocity.  He showed bat speed and some strength in his swing with power potential.

Stephen Dubb – SS – 6-0/170 – Pasadena, CA – Dubb showed good arm strength up to 85 MPH from the outfield and 83 MPH across the infield.  He showed good defensive actions with quick hands and quick release.  He also showed good hitting tools at the plate and squared the ball up well.

Dylan Beauregard – MIF – 5-9/165 – Burbank, CA – Beauregard ran a 6.89 and threw 80 MPH across the infield in the workout.  He also showed good hitting tools in BP and the game.  Solid all around player.

Ricky Tyler Thomas – OF/LHP – 6-1/165 – San Diego, CA – Thomas showed good velocity and actions in the outfield workout with arm strength up to 87 MPH.  He has loose easy actions with projectable arm strength.  He also was up to 84 MPH on the mound with projectable velocity.  Interesting athletic two-way guy.

Riley Akers – SS – 5-11/160 – West Jordan, UT – Akers ran a 6.82 and threw 82 MPH across the infield.  He’s a solid athlete with fast twitch actions.  Akers also swung the bat well and showed some juice.

Keston Hiura – 2B – 6-0/180 – Valencia, CA – Hiura showed good bat speed with quick hands at the plate.  He has projectable hitting tools and made consistent hard contact.

Anthony Moreno – 3B – 6-0/215 – West Covina, CA – Moreno showed arm strength up to 82 MPH with good actions and hands defensively.  He showed a simple swing with bat speed and a good path to the baseball. 

Troy Lamparello – OF – 6-0/160 – Oceanside, CA – Lamparello ran a 6.92 and threw 84 MPH from the outfield.  He showed solid footwork and solid transfers in the outfield.  He also showed some bat speed and lift with gap to gap pop.

David Hensley – 3B – 6-5/175 – San Diego, CA – Hensley showed solid 3B actions defensively.  His best tool is the bat as he showed bat speed with some power potential.  He showed good hitting tools to improve with.

Andrew Stoll – RHP/OF – 6-3/195 – Fresno, CA – Stoll pitched at 81-85 MPH with his fastball from an over the top arm slot.  He threw a curveball at 73 MPH with good shape to it.  He also showed good actions in the outfield with arm strength up to 87 MPH.  He also showed some power potential at the plate.

Aaron Pinto – RHP – 6-0/180 – Walnut, CA – Pinto pitched at 82-84 MPH with his fastball with a short arm action.  He repeats his delivery well and he maintains balance well.  Pinto throws a curveball at 71 MPH as well.

Rob Simsiman – C – 6-0/200 – San Diego, CA – Simsiman showed catch and throw tools in the workout popping a 1.94 making on the bag throws.  He also showed some hitting tools with some bat speed at the plate.


2015 Prospects

Devin Davis – 1B – 6-2/215 – Santa Clarita, CA – Davis took one of the best BP rounds of the showcase showing excellent bat speed and big time pop.  He has projectable hitting tools and a lot of strength in his swing. 

Nolan Kingham – RHP/SS – 6-4/165 – Las Vegas, NV – Kingham was up to 88 MPH on the mound with a loose quick arm action.  His velocity projects well as well as his body.  He also showed good tools as a position player running a 6.96 and throwing 82 MPH across the diamond.  Kingham showed bat speed and power potential at the plate.

Shane Nobiensky – C – 5-10/174 – La Mesa, CA – Nobiensky showed real good catch and throw tools in the workout and in game.  He popped a 1.86 with 79 MPH velocity in the workout with on the bag throws.  He also showed legit switch hitting ability with hitting tools.

Drew Finley – RHP/1B – 6-2/195 – San Diego, CA – Finley pitched at 84-86 MPH with his fastball from a loose easy arm action.  The ball comes out of his hand clean and he projects for more velocity.  He also threw a sharp 12/6 curveball.  Interesting young arm!

Jonah Davis – OF – 5-11/175 – San Diego, CA – Davis ran a 6.84 and threw 85 MPH from the outfield.  He showed good actions and quickness in the outfield.  Davis also swung the bat well and showed a short swing with bat speed and hitting tools.

Tanner Gilmore – 1B/RHP – 6-3/225 – LaVerne, CA – Gilmore showed big pop at the plate with more power potential in there.  He has bat speed and also showed good power in games.  Gilmore looked good on the mound as well with a loose arm action and tight breaking ball.  His fastball was up to 86 MPH.

Niko Navarro – 3B/RHP – 6-1/180 – Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Navarro showed good defensively actions on the infield with projectable 3B tools.  He threw 81 MPH across the infield with some carry on his throws.  Navarro showed bat speed at the plate with some pullside pop.  He also pitched at 83-86 MPH with his fastball with a good slider at 72 MPH.  Solid two-way guy.

Jake Ortega – C – 5-9/158 – Mission Viejo, CA – Ortega showed good catch and throw tools from behind the plate popping a 1.93 with arm strength up to 76 MPH.  He also showed some bat speed and some pop at the plate.  Ortega pitched at 84-86 MPH with his fastball and a good curveball at 68 MPH.

Steven Kwan – OF/LHP – 5-8/150 – Fremont, CA – Kwan ran a 6.74 and threw 88 MPH from the outfield.  He showed good defensive tools in the outfield with online accurate throws and carry.  Kwan showed good hitting tools with a short line drive swing at the plate.  He also was up to 84 MPH on the mound with a smooth delivery.

Adam Gordon – OF – 6-0/170 – Mission Viejo, CA – Gordon showed athletic actions in the outfield and threw it 85 MPH as well.  He showed hitting tools at the plate with quick hands and some bat speed.

Awari Muoneke – OF – 5-11/180 – Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA – Muoneke ran a 6.93 and threw 84 MPH from the outfield.  He showed solid actions in the outfield with projectable arm strength.  Muoneke showed good hitting tools and some juice at the plate.

Steve Nice – OF – 6-0/180 – Pleasanton, CA – Nice threw 86 MPH from the outfield with clean transfers and carry on his throws.  He showed hitting tools at the plate and made consistent hard contact.  Nice showed bat speed and power potential.

Karl Kani – SS – 5-8/155 – Sherman Oaks, CA – Kani ran a 6.89 and threw 83 MPH from the outfield and 81 MPH across the infield.  He showed fast twitch actions with quick transfers defensively.  He also showed a balanced swing with quick hands at the plate.

John Cresto – 3B/SS – 6-3/205 – Encinitas, CA – Cresto ran a 7.06 and threw 83 MPH across the infield in the workout.  His best present and future tool is hitting for power.  He made hard contact with good leverage and bat speed.

Jonathan Buckley – RHP/3B – 6-4 /190 – Chino, CA – Buckley pitched at 80-84 MPH with his fastball from a long low effort arm action.  He has a repeatable delivery and projects for more velocity.  He also showed solid actions defensively an power potential at the plate.  Solid two-way guy.

Trevor Willits – 1B – 6-0/195 – Mission Viejo, CA – Willits showed arm strength up to 78 MPH at 1B and also showed nice hands.  He showed some bat speed and made solid contact to the pull side.  He also showed some power potential and strength in his swing.

Louis Tade – OF – 6-0/175 – Murrieta, CA – Tade ran a 7.05 and threw 85 MPH from the outfield.  He showed solid actions in the outfield with some carry on his throws.  He swings on a line drive path and showed some strength in his swing.

Mitchell Hayes – 3B – 5-10/165 – Temecula, CA – Hayes showed good defensive actions with quick hands and quick transfers.  He also threw 82 MPH across the infield and showed bat speed at the plate.   

Anthony Lepre – C – 5-10/175 – Agua Dulca, CA – Lepre showed good hitting tools with good bat speed.  He also made hard contact with gap pop and more power potential in there.

Tom Fuller – C – 5-11/160 – Santa Monica, CA – Fuller showed good catch and throw tools in the workout throwing 76 MPH with a 1.99 pop time.  He also showed a line drive swing path at the plate.

Nick Lavin – OF/RHP – 6-3/215 – San Diego, CA – Lavin ran a 7.07 and threw 87 MPH from the outfield in the workout.  He showed some power potential and some strength in his swing at the plate as well. 

Chris Ceballos – C – 6-0/195 – Chino Hills, CA – Ceballos showed good arm strength from multiple positions throwing 85 MPH from the outfield, 82 MPH across the infield, and 78 MPH from behind the plate.  He showed versatility at all positions, and showed some bat speed and power potential at the plate.

Tevin Mitchell – SS – 6-1/150 – Clovis, CA – Mitchell ran well with a 6.92 time in the sixty yard dash.  He also swung the bat well showing a line drive swing path with some bat speed and extension.

Jacob Mullin – OF – 5-11/150 – San Diego, CA – Mullin showed arm strength up to 85 MPH from the outfield with solid actions.  He showed a line drive swing path at the plate with pullside contact.

Zach Weisz – OF – 5-10/155 – Poway, CA – Weisz ran a 7.04 and threw 78 MPH from the outfield.  He showed a balanced line drive swing at the plate and made consistent line drive contact.  Good swing path with some bat speed.


2016 Prospects

John “Jack” McCarthy – SS – 5-11/165 – San Juan Capistrano, CA – McCarthy showed good tools in the workout running a 6.96, throwing 84 MPH from the outfield, and throwing 81 MPH across the infield.  He’s a young athletic player who showed some hitting tools as well.

Nicholas Quintana – SS – 5-10/165 – Las Vegas, NV – Quintana showed good tools overall running a 7.26 and throwing 81 MPH across the infield.  He has projectable defensive actions with quick transfers.  He also showed a good swing with quick hands at the plate with projectable hitting tools.

Zach Weller –3B/RHP – 6-1/180 – Coronado, CA – Weller had a good BP round showing good bat speed with juice.  He has projectable hitting tools and power potential.  He also pitched at 78-81 MPH with a loose easy arm action.  Solid two-way guy.

Nathan Walker – RHP – 6-3/160 – Carlsbad, CA – Walker pitched at 79-83 MPH with his fastball from a long loose arm action.  The velocity projects and he repeats his delivery well.  He also threw a good curveball at 68 MPH.

Jordan Chang – OF – 5-11/186 – San Diego, CA – Chang threw 83 MPH from the outfield and showed solid actions with projectable arm strength.  He also swung the bat well showing bat speed with some juice.  Interesting young player.

Josh Stephen – OF – 6-0/170 – Chino Hills, CA – Stephen ran a 7.09 and threw 80 MPH from the outfield.  He showed good outfield actions that project along with a loose arm action that projects for more velocity.  At the plate Stephen showed projectable young hitting tools with a short swing path and bat speed.

James Prendergrast – RHP – 6-0/155 – Manhattan Beach, CA – Prendergrast pitched at 81-83 MPH with his fastball with a clean arm action and delivery.  He also threw a curveball at 70 MPH with good shape to it.

Gregory Brown – OF – 6-1/160 – Chula Vista, CA – Ran a 7.26 and threw 83 MPH from the outfield.  He showed quick hands with a good swing path to the baseball at the plate.  He also made consistent hard contact with good young hitting tools.  He was also up to 81 MPH on the mound.

Spencer Steer – 3B/RHP – 5-10/165 – Long Beach, CA – Ran a 7.07 and threw 82 MPH across the infield.  He showed some bat speed and projectable young hitting tools.  He looks to lift and showed some power potential.  He also pitched and was up to 85 MPH with his fastball and showed some feel for his change up.  He also threw an 11/5 curveball that showed promise.

Mickey Moniak – OF – 5-11/160 – Encinitas, CA – Moniak ran a 7.17 and threw 80 MPH from the outfield.  He showed good actions in the outfield with projectable defensive tools.  He also showed young projectable hitting tools at the plate and made consistent line drive contact.


2017 Prospects

Kyle Hurt – RHP – 6-0/180 – Rancho Santa Fe, CA – Hurt pitched at 79-82 MPH with a clean arm action and delivery.  He also threw a curveball at 68 MPH with good shape to it.  He’s an interesting very young player.
