The Team USA 18U National Team defeated Japan 3-2 early on Sunday morning to win the 2013 IBAF 'AAA'/18U World Cup Championship.  Lefthander Brady Aiken, who started the 2013 Perfect Game All-American Classic for the West squad, worked the first seven innings for Team USA, fanning 10 batters while allowing only one run on five hits.

Righthander and fellow PG All-American Luis Ortiz came on to relieve Aiken in the eighth, striking out four more batters in his two innings of work, striking out the side in the bottom of ninth to secure the win.

Keaton McKinney, who played first base in the gold medal winning game, went 1-for-4 with one RBI, while Classic MVP Jakson Reetz, who played right field, went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Other PG All-Americans playing for Team USA included Jack Flaherty, Scott Hurst, Kel Johnson, Mac Marshall and Justus Sheffield.

Aiken led the USA staff with 19 strikeouts and 16 innings, going 2-1 with a 1.13 ERA in 3 appearances, two of which were starts. Ortiz led the team in saves with four, striking out 13 in 10 1/3 innings in seven relief appearances.

Offensively, Reetz hit .345  with three doubles and a home run, while McKinney hit .313 and also made a pair of starts on the mound.
