The following players stood out during the Black vs Gold Game at the National Underclass South Showcase.
Aaron Walters (2017 C, Kerrville, TX) was up to 86 with his fastb all in his inning of work, he struck out 3. He also mixed in a 71 MPH curveball and 80 MPH change up.
Justin Rumley (2016 RHP, Granger, TX) topped out at 82 with his fastball.
Connor Prado (2016 RHP, Roanoke, TX) had an impressive day at the plate showing good speed while he collected 2 hits including a double.
Wade Sivess (2016 3B, Waco, TX) showed good instincts in the game, he also had a double and stolen base.
Ian Groves (2017 C, Austin, TX), Drew Holcombe (2017 1B, Cypress, TX), Grant Holland (2016 OF, Douglass, TX), Nathan Collins (2017 MIF, Alvin, TX), William Sutherland (2016 C, Arlington, TX), and Aaron Cardona (2016 LHP, Kingsville, TX) all had a hit for the Gold Team.
Jackson Greene (2016 RHP, Cypress, TX) struck out 7 in 4 innings with his fastball topping at 82.
Matthew Cooper (2017 C, Virginia Beach, VA) showed good power potential with 2 hits, one of which was a home run and the other a double.
Nicholas Dayton (2016 1B, Wylie, TX), made solid contact on his two hits, including a double.
Brett Wagner (2018 SS, Lake Jackson, TX) collected 2 hits, shows ability to get to the inside pitch and pull it.
Darius Jones (2017 OF, Baton Rouge, LA), Dalton Davies (2016 C, Fort Worth, TX), Bradley Gneiting (2016 SS, North Richland Hills, TX), and Kyle Landers (2017 2B, Flower Mound, TX) all had a hit for the Black Team
