2015 Sunshine Northeast

1-Black vs. 14-Texas Orange
6/8/2015 5:19:42 PM
Black (#1) Highlights

Gregory Albert (2017 OF, Medford, NJ): Albert really had a good weekend overall, but he added a new wrinkle to his profile by stepping on the mound for the Black team and shutting down Texas Orange over 2 innings of work. With a good fastball that was up to 83 MPH with life to go along with a good downer curveball, Albert has swing and miss stuff to go with good athleticism throughout the rest of his game.

Travis Zurita (2017 OF, Ozone Park, NY): Zurita had a good overall day on Sunday, hitting an absolute seed up the middle for a single in the 9th inning, then stealing both 2nd and 3rd base, showing off his good speed and excellent base running instincts.

Texas Orange (#14) Highlights

Colby Shimmel (2016 RHP, Windsor, PA): Shimmel is a big, strong, physical right-hander with good present stuff and projection. He struck out 4 hitters over 3 perfect innings, working with his fastball anywhere from 80-83 with a knee-buckling 11/5 curveball with excellent depth.

Michael Farr (2017 RHP, Metuchen, NJ): Farr is an XL-framed pitching prospect with excellent, high-end physical projection. He pounded the zone across 3 innings of work with a fastball that touched 83 MPH, complemented by a power slider with sharp tilt and bat-missing potential in the mid 70's.

Tyler Mandel (2017 3B, Scarsdale, NY): Mandel went 3-3 on Sunday with 3 rockets, including an opposite-field double that one-hopped the wall in RF. He has quick hands to go with present extra base power that should manifest itself into more HR power as he continues to develop--but there's no doubt that he can hit now and will continue to do so moving forward.

Darren Aupperle (2016 3B, Barrington, NJ): Aupperle collected two knocks on Sunday, a single to RF and a massive 3 run home run to left field. Good overall hitter with a spray approach, shows ability to backspin the ball into gaps and will have even more power as he develops.

Colby Dunlop (2016 SS, Dover Plains, NY): Dunlop showed off his very good bat speed again on Sunday, belting a big time pull-field home run in the 6th inning and following it up with a line drive single in the 9th. He gets out of the box well and runs well overall as well.

TJ (Thomas) Scuderi (2018 OF, Beachwood, NJ): Scuderi showed very good overall potential on both sides of the ball on Sunday, belting a line drive HR to left field that got out in a hurry, then showing off his defensive prowess and arm strength by contributing a pair of outfield assists.
