2015 Jr. National

Columbia Blue v. Navy Highlights
6/14/2015 8:54:14 PM

Harrison Francis (2017 RHP, Tallahassee, FL) has an athletic build and projectable frame. Francis improved in his second inning of work, and showed a fastball up to 88 mph, working comfortably in 85-87 range. He also showed feel for a curveball with 12/6 shape, tight spin, and good depth. He struck out two in two innings.

Weston Bizzle (2017 RHP, Rossville, TN) struck out four in his two innings of work. He presents a different look for opposing hitters with his up-tempo delivery and can prove to be an uncomfortable at bat. Bizzle ran his fastball up to 90 mph and showed solid feel and good armspeed for a 79-81 mph changeup with fading life.

Logan Pollack (2017 SS, Los Angeles, CA) showcased good bat speed, feel for the barrel, and a loose, tension-free swing. He had a very well-struck ball over the shortstop’s head for a single.

Kale Ledford (2017 3B, Oxford, GA) displayed quick hands and good bat speed at the plate. He turned on an 85 mph fastball in on the hands and was able to hit it hard and keep it just inside the third base line.

John Shields (2017 SS, Tampa, FL) is a good athlete and he showcased good defensive chops by making it a difficult play on a slow roller seem very easy. Shields also showed some ability with the bat, driving a ball off of the third base bag for a single.

David Lamanna (2017 C, Saddle River, NJ) displayed a nice two strike approach. The right handed hitter kept his hands back well on a two-strike breaking ball and smoked it up the middle for a single on one of the harder hit balls of the evening.

Manuel Santiago (2018 LHP, Maracaibo, VE) threw a clean two innings. Santiago struck out five overall and three in his first inning of work alone. The  lefty has a well-proportioned, athletic build and repeats his delivery well, generating extension. He was able to locate his 82-84 mph fastball well to the gloveside and adeptly mix in his mid-60s curveball with 12/6 shape and good depth.
