2015 Jr. National

Royal v. Red (Game 2) Highlights
6/16/2015 9:44:45 AM

Griffin Doersching (2017 1B, Greendale, WI) was the latest victim of Kyle Jacobsen (2017 OF, Acworth, GA).  Doerschering drove a fastball over the middle of the plate deep into left center field and it looked like it would be certain extra bases, but Jacobsen--for the second straight game—showed off some defensive tools as he made a good read off of the bat, took an efficient route and showed off his speed and athleticism by tracking down the ball and leaping to make the catch.

Zachary Dreznin (2017 RHP, Saddle River, NJ) ran his fastball up to 88 and worked comfortably in the 85-87 mph range over the course of his two innings. The physical, 6-foot-3, 210 pound righty also worked in a change up and low-70s breaking ball.

Brendan Murphy (2017 LHP, Mundelein, IL) struck out two in his two innings. The lean, projectable lefty shows a loose arm with solid, developing arm speed and ran his fastball up to 86 mph.  He showed an ability to locate the offering, and also work in his low-70s breaking ball and a fading changeup effectively.

Austin Mihlbauer (2017 LHP, Mukwonago, WI) struck out the side in his first inning of work. He ended up striking out four in two innings. The athletic lefty uses a lower arm slot and generates good life on his 85-88 mph fastball. He also showed solid feel for a low-80s changeup that had good diving action below the knees.

Alexander Hernandez (2017 C, Miramar, FL) drove a double into left center field.  The right handed hitter showed quick hands and good strength to put a charge into the 87 mph fastball located on the inside third of the plate.

Shane Muntz (2017 C, Phoenixville, PA) is a primary catcher but he showed some arm strength on the mound as well.  The physical, 6-foot-4, 245 pound pitcher is still developing his command, but he ran his fastball up to 87 mph and flashed a low-70s curveball.

Christian Santana (2017 RHP, Hialeah, FL) is also a primary position player that showed some arm strength from the mound. The athletic righty hit 88 on the radar gun. He also flashed a solid curveball with 11/5 to 12/6 shape and good depth. Santana struck out four in his two innings of work.

Triston Casas (2019 3B, Pembroke Pines, FL) stung the ball again, driving a double down the right field line on a fastball on the inner half of the plate.
