White v. Royal Game Highlights
6/16/2015 4:00:29 PM

Triston Casas (2019 3B, Pembroke Pines, FL) has stung the ball at the plate throughout the event, and he showed well on the mound in this contest. The big right hander hit 87 mph and sat in the 84-86 range with his fastball. He shows an extremely advanced feel for his delivery given his size and youth. Casas also mixed in a curveball with 12/6 shape, which flashed solid spin and depth.

Cooper Swanson (2017 SS, Fort Myers, FL)also has hit a number of balls hard this week, and he showed some arm strength off the mound as well.  The Vanderbilt commit hides the ball pretty well in his delivery and has a loose, quick arm. His fastball sat in the 86-88 mph range and topped out at 89. He also worked in a tight curveball in the 72-74 mph range.

Zach Koch (2017 C, Tampa, FL) worked a clean inning on the mound. The primary catcher has room to get stronger and add muscle to his frame. He shows solid running action on his mid-80s fastball that proved tough for hitters to barrel. He also shows good feel for his 12/6 curveball with tight rotation. Koch also stung the ball at the plate, barreling a ball for a single up the middle.

Mark Vientos (2017 SS, Pembroke Pines, FL) showed solid defensive skills both in the infield and outfield. He showed soft hands and easy actions at shortstop on a couple of different plays, and also made a good play while patrolling left field, charging in and displaying good range to get to a softly hit ball near the line.

Brad Czerniejewski (2017 OF, Lake Forest, IL) picked up an outfield assist while playing right field.  He charged well on a groundball hit thru the right side and did a great job of fielding out in front, working through the ball, and delivering an on-line and accurate throw with carry to gun down a runner who was trying to score from second base.

Shane Muntz (2017 C, Phoenixville, PA) showed good balance, hands, strength and feel for the barrel at the plate. He did a good job of staying with a fastball on the outer third and driving the ball into right field for a well-struck single.

Joseph Perez (2017 3B, Pembroke Pines, FL) came in late to work one inning on the mound and the big physical 6-foot-2, 210 pound righthander ran his fastball up to 90 mph, working more consistently in the 86-88 mph range.

Andres Santana (2017 3B, Miami, FL) had a very good round of batting practice yesterday and he showed off some bat speed and feel for the barrel with a hard-hit single to left field on an upper-80s fastball.
