2015 Midwest Under

9-Purple vs 10-Red Game Highlights
8/22/2015 11:32:31 AM

Clayton Nettleton (2017 Davenport, IA) tossed 3 scoreless innings to begin the game and had 6 strikeouts.  84-86 MPH threw all three innings of work.

Joel Thompson (2017 Council Bluffs, IA) took an 84 MPH up in the zone on a line over the left fielder’s head  for an easy stand up double.  Thompson showed good bat speed and has good size for a catcher.

Jarred Wood (2017 Cedar Rapids, IA) sat 83-84 MPH consistently challenging hitters.  The 6’3” 195 pound RHP projects very well and should continue to put on velocity as he continues to develop.

Jake Hakey (2017 Fairfax, VT) sat 78-81 MPH and showed two different breaking balls that was good for 5 strikeouts over his 3 innings of work.  Hakey had a good tempo while on the mound and did a nice job of missing barrels.

Brayden Frazier (2018 Cedar Rapids, IA) drove in the first run of the day throwing his hands inside on an inside pitch for a base hit.  Frazier has good barrel control and made loud contact in all three of his at bats.

Cameron Cratic (2017 Madison, WI) collected a pair of base hits for the Red team.  He also moved very well on the base paths getting down the line very quickly.

Jediah Schmidt (2017 Mitchell, SD) had two hits on the day including a well driven liner over the center fielder driving in a runner on the play.  Schmidt has some natural lift in his swing and does a nice job of getting extended on balls over the plate.

Derrick Schorg (2018 Remsen, IA) had a 2 RBI single in the 10th .  Schorg is a young player that displayed good bat speed and plenty of room to get bigger and stronger as he matures.
