2015 National Underclass South Showcase

National Underclass South BP Highlights
11/7/2015 11:54:05 PM

Hayden Travinski (2019 C, Haughton, LA) is a big and strong freshman at 6-1/194 with lots of strength and bat speed for his age.  He'll be worth following closely for the next few years.

Jonah Bailey (2017 SS, Boerne, TX) has a nice athletic build and lots of potential in his left handed swing, especially when he hits from above the ball and looks to drive it.

Jared Free (2017 OF, Frisco, TX) is a bit busy in his load but creates lots of raw bat speed from the right side and the ball jumps hard when he squares it up.

Tanner Lund (2018 3B, Tomball, TX) has a simple swing approach and a good swing plane.  He created consistent hard lline drive contact during his round and has the potential to keep improving.

Benjamin Zeidman (2017 OF, Houston, TX) has a sound approach at the plate and combines that with an aggressive swing that he's able to stay directional and balanced with at the same time.  He peppered the gaps with hard line drives.

Marcelo Perez (2018 OF, Laredo, TX) was one of many good young players from Laredo at the showcase.  He has lots of young strength in his 5-10/150 frame, with quick hands and the ability to make the ball jump off the barrel.

Ty Michael Dragos (2017 C, Humble, TX) took a nice round of BP and has lots of project to his swing.  He has good bat speed from a somewhat rotational swing and hit the ball hard to all fields.

Tyler Frank (2017 SS, Atoka, OK) has strength in his swing, especially for a middle infielder, and made lots of loud middle of the field line drive contact.

August Ramirez (2018 C, Helotes, TX) has an unusual left handed hitting approach that will need some adjustments in his direction towards contact but few hitters at the Underclass showcase showed his strength and bat speed.

Justin Elizondo (2017 3B, Austin, TX) has quick hands at the plate with an aggressive approach and drove the ball hard up both alleys.  He has good projection athletically.

Brandon Anderson (2017 RHP, Omaha, NE) is a primary pitcher but he had some of the best strength and power at the event and would have put a few balls well out of the park without the wind and moisture working against him.

Saul R Garza (2017 C, Linn, TX) is a big young man at 6-3/215 but he has a short swing for a hitter his size and drives the ball well, with a high ceiling physically if he can make some adjustments.

Norberto Cervantes (2017 C, Laredo, TX)  has a clean load and shift into contact, which enables him to his his strength well to create consistently impressive raw bat speed.

Hunter Koumonduros (2017 C, Richmond, TX) graded out the highest of any hitter at the Underclass showcase.  He hits the ball out front with an aggressive swing and showed the ability to pull the ball with power and authority.

Zayne Watson (2018 OF, The Woodlands, TX) hits from a very spread stance but does a good job of not locking out his lower half and creates a loose swing with plenty of bat speed.

Omar Cervantes (2018 3B, Laredo, TX) has a nice left handed swing with lots of easy natural life and power.
