The Spanish Fork Dons opened up their title defense with a pair of blowout victories last week. Winners of two straight state championships, the Dons entered the season ranked #7 nationally in the PG Top 50. Two games into the season they've outscored their opponents 19-1. Including a 15-0 victory over Layton on Friday.

Hayden Nielsen pitched well to get the win in the season opener, striking out 8 over 4 scoreless innings of work. The top ranked player in the state,
Kayden Porter homered in the 15-run affair on Friday after allowing the Dons only run of the season (unearned) during a 3-inning relief stint of the season opener. Spanish Fork will take on Bingham this afternoon.
