2024 Northern California Prospect Gateway (03/23/2024 - 03/24/2024)

1-Purple vs. 2-Red Game 2 Highlights >>

3/24/2024 10:05:54 PM

Tristan Walters (2028 MIF, Danville, CA) got the start for Purple and threw three hitless innings striking out three. He worked fast and pounded the strikezone at a high rate with his low-mid 70s fastball and a quality upper 60s slider that produced some whiffs. He also found a line drive barrel into left at the plate.

Collin Montgomery (2027 1B, Elk Grove, CA) got the start for Red and threw two shutout innings of his own. He didn't show loud stuff/velo but he threw strikes and hitters couldn't find barrel.

Maxim Rocheleau (2028 SS, Livermore, CA) might have shown the best stuff of the weekend showing a smooth delivery with a loose quick arm. He ran his fastball up to 79, living more 75-77 that produced a ton of late swings. Also showed a high upside slurvy breaking ball that also produced some whiffs and some buckled takes. Flashed a depthy CH as well that rounds out a solid arsenal.

Isaac Stanley (2028 C, Vacaville, CA) threw two shutout innings where he displayed an aggressive drop/drive type delivery. He only ran his fastball up to 68 but mixed in a larger CB that showed upside with its higher spin and the way he commanded it which helped him induce whiff/buckle.

Vincent Zappacosta (2029 SS, Modesto, CA) had himself a hard line drive single into left which ended up being one of the louder hits of the day.

J.J. Toler- Fruit Jr. (2028 OF, Berkeley, CA) went with an outside FB and drove it down the right field line for a double. Physical build that helps him create some easy impact.

Carson Moore (2029 RHP, Vacaville, CA) also had an opposite field two-strike double where he drove an outside fastball over the right fielder's head.

BP Highlights >>

3/24/2024 4:42:32 AM

Tristan Walters (2028 MIF, Danville, CA) put together a solid round where he showed quality out front contact producing solid LDs to the pullside. Keeps a simple trigger as his hands load the barrel into a connected launch and works the barrel with good length through contact.

Reid Holt (2028 RHP, Oakland, MI). Swing worked short, direct and compact to the baseball with a simple lower half operation. Stayed behind a firm front side. Best post impact results were some quality pullside LDs.

Declan Gonge (2027 C, Lincoln, CA). He stands in a considerable open stance. Has good intent to each swing showing strong hands that produced adv. bat speed for his level. Produced barrels to the pullside and hit a couple hard liners to the RC gap. Throws the barrel on a slight uphill path through the zone.

Torre Ridgway (2028 RHP, Lincoln, CA). Inconsistent round but got off several good swings. Hands showed strength and quickness in throwing the barrel with above avg. bat speed through for his level. Stays behind it for easy balance. Produced solid pullside LDs and FBs.

Carson Moore (2029 RHP, Vacaville, CA). Stayed short and direct to the baseball. Worked more inside-out throughout his round producing quality soft liners to the RC gap. Good rhythm to the swing and stayed behind it well.

Maxim Rocheleau (2028 SS, Livermore, CA). Loads the barrel into a lower launch. Rotates fast and flashed some strong/quick hands. Consistently out front with contact with some quality impact to the pullside and a couple hard liners back up the box.

1-Purple vs. 2-Red Game Highlights >>

3/24/2024 4:08:25 AM

Isaac Stanley (2028 C, Vacaville, CA) found the first barrel of the game lining a FB into left for a single in the first. He shows consistent timing with his early toe tap trigger and he throws the barrel on a slight uphill path.

Carson Moore (2029 RHP, Vacaville, CA) had a solid two-way performance where he hit a ringing double into the LC gap and also threw 3 quality innings on the mound where he struck out 3.

Maxim Rocheleau (2028 SS, Livermore, CA) found his own double sending a high FB into the LC gap. He keeps it real simple with his lower half and lets his strong hands throw the barrel with some sneaky bat speed.

Quintin Maravilla (2029 SS, Clovis, CA) hit a hard GB back up the box for a single. Showed a dominant top hand that throws a direct barrel to the baseball.

Vincent Zappacosta (2029 RHP, Modesto, CA) pitched three quality innings on the mound striking out five and also found a quality barrel at the plate sending a line drive back up the box showing a rhythmic easy stroke.

Evan Eng (2029 SS, Benicia, CA) might have had the loudest barrel sending a long flyball over the CF's head for.an inside the park homerun. He loads early and deep into his backside and his hands throw the barrel direct with some sneaky quickness and bat speed through.

Declan Gonge (2027 C, Lincoln, CA) had one of the louder rounder rounds of BP showing adv. bat speed that translated in-game to a hard GB knock through the 5-6 hole. Also showed well behind the plate making a tough foul grab.

Torre Ridgway (2028 RHP, Lincoln, CA) collected two hits in game which included an LD knock to left and a infield single to 3rd. He also jumped on the mound for three shutout innings of his own where he struck out five showing a mid 70s fastball and a quality/developing low 60s breaker.

Brayden Greenberg (2028 SS, Kirkland, WA) turned on a FB sending a LD down the left field line for a standup double. He did a good job getting his hands on-top and the barrel on-plane on the high pitch.

Ben Herman (2028 C, Rio Rancho, NM) turned on a FB sending a hard GB through the 3-4 hole for an RBI single.

Reid Holt (2028 RHP, Oakland, MI) showed the best strikeout stuff out of all the pitchers on Saturday striking out 8 in his 3 innings of work. He ran his fastball up to 78 and mixed in a quality slurvy breaker with some upside producing several whiffs throughout.

Conner Moore (2029 RHP, Vacaville, CA) threw three shutout innings. Showed a simple/balanced delivery where he ran his fastball up to 76 and mixed in a developing 10-4 breaker that he showed he could land for strikes.

Antonio Godinez-Castillo (2029 RHP, Chico, CA) also threw three shutout innings showing a deceptive crossfire delivery. Used a running FB and a larger developing curveball.
