2015 Mid Atlantic Top

Kyle Bakely (2016 Sewell, NJ) sat 82-84 mph in his 3 scoreless innings of work.  Showed two different breaking balls that were both effective.

William Miles (2016 Alexandria, VA) was up to 81 MPH in this 3 scoreless innings of work.  Did a nice job of mixing up his fastball and slider.

Jared Gillis (2016 Smyma, DE) was a defensive menace making a diving stop at third and throwing the runner out followed by an outstanding diving catch in center field.  

Zach Miller (2017 Lincoln University, PA) showed good arm strength behind the plate keeping runners in check all game.

Tyler Solmon (2016 Haymarket, VA) hit the hardest ball of the day on his ground rule double to the right center field gap.

Micheal Schreiber (2016 Woodbridge, VA) was up to 82 MPH and showed a good three pitch mix.

Sutton Young (2016 Woodbridge, VA) was also up to 82 MPH and had solid break on his slider.

Matthew Cocciadiferro (2016 Dumont, NJ) was 84-86 MPH and showed good depth on his breaking ball,. very live arm from a guy who isn't a primary pitcher

The following players stood out during the Black vs Cardinal Game at the Mid Atlantic Top Showcase.

Elliott McKee (2016 LHP, Centreville, VA) has a quick arm with good angle to the plate, fastball was up to 83 with good arm side run and hand feel for hs slider to the glove side.

Austin Romine (2016 RHP, Glen Allen, VA) was up to 85 with sold arm side run and life at the plate.  Used 3 quality pitches to go with his fastball.  His curveball had 12/6 shape and a change up with good fade.

Matthew Elliott (2016 RHP, East New Market, MD) has a quick arm and his fastball was up to 87.  Had feel for a tight spinning 11/5 curveball.

Joe Daley IV (2016 RHP, Bristow, VA) topped at 83 with his fastball with late arm side run and mixed in a short breaking slider.

Paul Wilson (2016 RHP, Perry Hall, MD) has a long loose arm action.  Has solid command of his fastball and 12/6 curveball with good depth.  Also showed a developing change up with good fade.

Matthew Rubayo (2016 OF, Skillman, NJ) topped at 85 with his fastball using a quick arm with an extended release.  Fastball had late life.

Brandon Laventure (2016 OF, Schenectady, NY) showed good power to the pull side on two doubles, he had 3 hits on the day.

Dwayne Marshall (2016 SS, Piscataway, NJ) also had 2 doubles and three hits overall, the ball really jumps off his barrel.  He was also up to 84 on the mound.

Jonah Perna (2017 C, Haddonfield, NJ) has good extension and barrel control, he collected 3 hits today and showed good footwork on a back pick to first base.

Jacob Wade (2016 OF, Accokeek, MD) shows good bat speed and was 2 for 4 with a double.

Danny Roth (2016 SS, West Hartford, CT) has an easy swing and made solid contact, he had a triple in his final at bat.

Sutton Young (2016 MIF, Woodbridge, VA) has a line drive plane and good bat speed, he had a double and 2 hits overall.

Thomas Buckman (2016 OF, McLean, VA) was 2 for 4 showing good extension through ball.

Zack Miller (2017 C, Lincoln University, PA) went 2 for 3 showing solid pull contact and good base running instincts.

Marvin Dozier (2016 SS, Philadelphia, PA) shows an easy swing at the plate with good contact, he had a double.

The following players stood out during batting practice at the Mid Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase.

Sutton Young (2016 MIF, Woodbridge, VA) has good balance and consistent swing mechanics, consistently got barrel to ball and had line drive carry off of it.

 Matthew Cocciadiferro (2016 OF, Dumont, NJ) has good feel for his barrel, has lift and shows good pull side carry and strength in swing.

Tyler Solomon (2017 C, Haymarket, VA) has a big physical build, the switch hitting catcher who is a verbally committed to Vanderbilt showed big power potential from the right side and developing power from the left side.

Brandon Laventure (2016 OF, Schenectady, NY) has a short quick swing and the ball jumps off his barrel when centered.  Has plenty of tools to develop with at the plate.

Dwayne Marshall (2016 SS, Piscataway, NJ) has a strong athletic build, flashed good power potential as ball really carries off barrel at contact.

Tommy Savastio (2017 1B, Mechanicsburg, PA) showed good hand quickness and looseness bring the bat through the zone.  Solid repeatable swing with lift at contact.

Danny Roth (2016 SS, West Hartford, CT) has a very simple and easy swing, gets barrel to ball consistently and ball came off it well, he also showed strength in swing.

Matthew Rubayo (2016 OF, Skillman, NJ) flashed gap to gap power with a short quick swing with good extension out front.
