Palm Beach and Citius tie

Palm Beach Select came back to tie Team Citius Espy.  Tyler Huggins (2015, Park Vista, FL) had a double for Palm Beach. Weston Demino (2015, Park Vista, FL) started and lasted three innings. He fanned two and allowed a hit.  Chad Tworek (2015, Santaluces, FL) came in to finish the game.  He struck out three and allowed a walk in three innings.

Gabriel Constantine (2015, McKinney North, TX) pitched four solid innings for Citius. He K'ed an impressive seven and allowed just a hit.  His fastball was working as it reached 87 mph.

Panthers win in high scoring game

Atlanta Blue 17U scored six runs in the sixth but it wasn't enough as South Charlotte Panthers 2015 won 13-12. Aaron Pilkington (2016, Ardrey Kell, NC) had a three-run homer in the win.  Jake Holtzapple (2016, Providence, NC) went 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBI's.  Luke Robinson () pitched in with three hits including a double. Omar Bautista (2015, West Rowan, NC) pitched three quality innings.  He struck out three and allowed two walks.

Edgar Cruz led the Blue Jays with two hits including a double and five RBI's.  Justin Neo (2015, American Senior, FL) went 2 for 3 and an RBI. Alex Bialakis (2015, Pope John Paul II, FL) pitched an inning and struck out one. He threw his fastball in the low 80's and it touched 87 mph.   Morgan Fultz  came in next. He fanned two and walked one. His heater was in the mid 80's and topped out at 88 mph.

Emoni Williams (2015, Mt. Paran Christian, GA) threw six quality innings for Nelson Baseball School in their 3-2 win over Easton Rockets. He struck out five and allowed two hits. Ryley Gilliam (2015, Kennesaw Mountain, GA) threw the seventh innings.  He fanned two and did not give up a hit.  His fastball was in the high 80's and touched 91 mph. Will Long (2015, Woodstock, GA) led the offense with two singles.

Dylan Gordon (2015, American Heritage, FL) started for the Rockets.  He struck out two and allowed two walks. His heater was in the high 80's and touched 90 mph.

Liput leads his team to victory

Deacon Davis Liput (2015, Oviedo, FL) had a perfect day at the plate for Florida Burn 2015 Pennant in their 8-2 win over Northeast Baseball Rays 17U.  He had three hits including a double.  JP Colton (2015, Winter Park, FL) went 2 for 3 with two doubles and four RBI's.  Walker Bailey (2015, Spruce Creek, FL) had two singles.  Rey Gonzalez (2014, Timber Creek, FL) pitched in with a single that drove in two runs. Colton also threw an inning.  He struck out two and did not walk a batter. His fastball was in the high 80's and it touched 88 mph.

Jake Farrell led the Rays with two hits including a double.  Andrew Noviello (2015, Bridgewater-Raynham, MA) drove in a run with a single. Gus Culpo (2014, Worcester Academy, RI) threw an inning and struck out one. His fastball was in the mid 80's and touched 86 mph.

Two homers for Pickett

Greg Pickett (2015, Legend, CO) who is ranked 25th, hit two jacks for Chandler World in their 8-6 win over Scorpions 2015 Prime.  He also drove in four runs.  Ryan Sloniger (2015, Punxsutawaney Area, PA) went 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBI's.  Top ranked Brendan Illies (2015, Puyallup, WA) doubled in two runs in the win.  He also started and lasted 3 1/3 innings. He fanned two while giving up three hits. His heater was in the mid 80's and touched 87 mph. Penn State commit Eli Nabholz (2015, Pottsville Area, PA) threw the rest of the game.  He struck out two and walked four.  He also had a great mid 80's fastball that topped out at 89 mph.

Ramon Alejo (2015, Boone, FL) led the offense with two singles. Top ranked Brendan Rodgers (2015, Lake Mary, FL) pitched in with two singles and an RBI. Derek West (2015, University, FL) started for the Scorpions. In two innings, he fanned four and allowed two hits. His impressive heater was in the 90's and touched 94 mph.  Cameron Williams (2015, Union Grove, GA) came in next.  He struck out one and walked one in 2 1/3 innings. His fastball was between 83-86 mph and touched 87.  Drew Parrish (2016, Rockledge Senior, FL) threw 1 2/3 innings.  He struck out three hitters and his fastball was also in the high 80's and touched 88 mph.

Hutcheson leads the Prospects

Dylan Hutcheson (2015, Rider, TX) was a home run away from the cycle for the Prospects National Team in their 8-4 win over Knoxville Stars 17U.  He also drove in a run.  Luke Watson (2015, Cypress Ranch, TX) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Trey Dickerson (2015, Jack C Hays, TX) started and lasted four innings.  He fanned two and allowed a walk.  Brandon Lewis (2015, Cy-Fair, TX) pitched the seventh.  He fanned two and did not walk a batter.  His heater was in the low 80's and it touched 85 mph.

Nick Osborne (2015, Sevier County, TN) went 2 for 2 with a triple for the Stars.  John Sharpe (2015, Christian Academy, TN) pitched in with two singles.

Jordan comes back to win

Team Citius Jordan plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat Demarini Stars 17U Prime 2-1.  Santorelli went 2 for 3 while Garrett Hammer (2015, Rocky Mountain, CO) drove in two runs with two hits.  Ryan Gonzalez (2015, Carroll, TX) threw three innings and struck out four.  He allowed three hits and a walk. His fastball was in the mid 80's and reached 88 mph. 

Tyler Ratliff started and lasted two innings.  He only allowed a hit. He threw his heater between 87-88 mph. Andrew Rozylowicz (2015, Demartha Catholic, MD) came in next.  In 3 2/3 innings, he fanned three and allowed a walk.  Kevin Heiss (2015, Archbishop Spalding, MD) doubled in their only run. 

Ruffnecks hang on

Homeplate Chilidogs Maldonado tried to come back but New England Ruffnecks hung on to win 5-3. R.J. Hall (2015, Hotchkiss, MA) hit a solo home-run in the win.  John Simourian (2016, Phillips Academy, MA) went 2 for 3 with a double.  Matt Hosman (2015, Phillips Academy, MA) pitched in with a double that drove in a run. Jake Nelson (2015, Hopkinton, NH), who is ranked #82, threw an inning and allowed just one run. His fastball was in the mid 80's and touched 90 mph. 

Cornelius Randolph (2015, Griffin, GA) led the Chilidogs with two doubles and an RBI. Tyler Sellers (2015, Locust Grove, GA) started and lasted three innings. He fanned two and gave up one hit. 

Wekewa and Rodriguez lead Team Citius to 5-3 W

Team Citius Espy plated three runs in the top of the last inning, breaking a brief tie and holding on for a 5-3 win over Atlanta Blue Jays 17U.

Wesley Rodriguez (2015, George Washington Carver HS, NY) threw all six innings for Team Citius Espy, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits, four walks, a hit batter, and a balk with seven punch outs. Rodriguez unleashed explosive fastballs sitting between 87-92 mph and topping out at 94 mph, and he paired them with a 72-78 mph curve, 79-83 mph slider and an 83 mph change up.

Rodriguez also drew a pair of walks with the lumber in his hands, scoring once and stealing a base. Jordan Wekewa (2014, Namaan Forest HS, TX) was on base all three times up, smacking a pair of singles and working a walk with two RBI and a run scored. Pittsburgh commit Chase Whetsel (2015, Corpus Christi Moody HS, TX) stole a pair of bases after getting on with a single and a walk, scoring once. Bennett Oberstein (2015, Plano West Senior HS, TX) also singled and walked, driving home a run.

University of Cincinnati commit Chase Fullington (2015, Farragut HS, TN) and David Posas (2015, Valdosta HS, GA) were the only Blue Jays to get a hit with Fullington accounting for two of the three hits with a pair of singles and a run scored. Posas was stranded on base after his hit.

Tanner Routh (2015, Randleman HS, NC) was a bit wild in his four inning start for the Blue Jays, walking five with a wild pitch while allowing a pair of runs on four hits with four strike outs. He touched 88 mph with his fastball, sitting 85-87 mph with a 71-75 mph curve and 76-77 mph change up. Erikson Lanning (2015, Sequoyah HS, GA) only faced three batters in relief but hit 91 mph on the gun with his heat, sitting 86-89 mph in the outing. 

Three run rally powers FL Burn's 3-0 victory

Florida Burn 2015 Pennant put together a three run rally in the 5th inning to put them ahead for good as they shut out Team Citius Jordan 3-0.

The Burn pitching was lights out with Kade Hunkapiller (2015, Venice Senior HS, FL) getting the start and throwing four scoreless innings, scattering four hits and a walk with four strike outs. His fastball topped out at 78 mph with a 67-70 mph curve thrown to keep hitters off balance. Austin Hoppe (2015, Out-of-Door Academy, FL) followed him up with three hitless innings, allowing a walk and hitting a batter while striking out six. The heater was in the 80-83 mph range and he also threw a 68-73 mph hook and 70-72 mph change up.

Jimmy Kuebler (2015, Out-of-Door Academy, FL) got the rally started with a single, scoring on a triple by Jake Romine (2015, Out-of-Door Academy, FL). Nicholas Conti (2015, Dr. Phillips HS, FL) brought Romine in with a sac fly, and Nick Blasucci (2015, Riverdale HS, FL) doubled in a run later in the inning. Josh Evans (2015, Venice Senior HS, FL) singled and scored on Blasucci's double, also stealing a pair of bases in the process.

Reese Barrett (2016, Calallen HS, TX) picked up a pair of singles for Team Citius Jordan, accounting for half of the team's hit total. Ryan Gonzalez (2015, Carrol HS, TX) doubled but was stranded in scoring position while Drew Jackson (2015, Marcus HS, TX) singled, stole a base, and was also stranded. 

Vincent Torres (2015, Mercersburg Academy, NY) handled five innings on the mound for Team Citius, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk, striking out three. His heater sat in the 76-79 mph range but he reached back for 83 mph at least once. A 60-67 mph curve ball was his only offspeed pitch. 

Chandler World walks off on Demarini Stars Prime

A single off the bat of Ty Denzer (2015, Chanhassen HS, MN) brought home the game winning run in the bottom of the 7th, sending Chandler World to a 4-3 victory over Demarini Stars 17U Prime. 

Chandler World stayed undefeated with strong performances by Denzer, a Kansas commit, who also walked in the game, and Kentucky commit Travis Blankenhorn (2015, Pottsville Area HS, KY) who scored after working a walk and was also hit by a pitch and stole two bases. Two Chandler players also went yahtzee, with Penn State commit Connor Klemann (2015, Spring-Ford HS, PA) and Mississippi State commit Greg Pickett (2015, Legend HS, CO) each launching solo home runs. 

Cameron Enck (2015, Lampeter-Strasburg HS, PA) threw 4.2 scoreless frames for Chandler, striking out three with two hits, a walk and a hit batter allowed. The Maryland commit sat 83-86 mph with his heater, peaking at 87 mph with a 78-80 mph change up and 68-78 mph hook. Penn State commit Ryan Sloniger (2015, Punxsutawney Area HS, PA) touched 85 mph with his fastball, and Duke commit Elijah Connell (2015, Dalton HS, NY) hit 86 mph on the gun with his. 

Tyler Ratliff (2014, T C Williams HS, VA) led the way for Demarini Stars, knocking a double and a single but getting stranded on base each time. Jake Allen (2015, Briar Woods HS, VA) singled home one, and both Nick Atkinson (2015, Osbourn Park HS, VA) and Christian Hamel (2015, Archbishop Curley HS, MD) scored after reaching on a walk. 

Jackson Freeman (2015, Gonzaga College, VA) handled four innings of work on the mound, walking one, striking out two and giving up both solo homers with a hit by pitch as well. His fastball worked in the 80-83 mph range, maxing out at 85 mph with a 65-71 mph curve he was not afraid to use. 

Palm Beach makes huge come back to top Rays 7-6

Down by four runs heading into the 5th inning, Palm Beach Select put up a five spot to take a slim lead and hold on for the 7-6 win over Northeast Baseball Rays 17U.

Bruce Martin (2015, Trinity Christian Academy, FL) drove in one with a triple and later scored while Jarret O'Leary (2015, John Carroll Catholic, FL) also scored once and drove in one with a double for Palm Beach. Jacob Koos (2015, Wellington HS, FL) also doubled and stole a base leading to a run scored. Anthony Maniotas (2015, Wellington HS, FL) reached base twice with a walk and a single, plating one run. Cody Wilson (2015, Jupiter HS, FL) was also on base twice for Palm Beach, working a pair of walks and coming in to score both times.

Daniel Mayer (2015, Pope John Paul II HS, FL) was lit up in his start, allowing six runs (one earned) in just three innings but did run his fastball up to 84 mph, adding in a 68-72 mph curve, 70-71 mph change up and a 74 mph pitch that was not classified. Dorion Kemp (2015, Trinity Christian Academy, FL) shut the door afterwards, striking out five in three innings with a single hit allowed. Kemp worked his heater in the 72-75 mph range, keeping hitters off balance by throwing just as many 62-68 mph curve balls.

Northeastern commit Ryan Solomon (2015, Algonquin Reg, MA) was the offensive stud for the Rays, driving in three with a double and a single, scoring once and knocking a sac fly. Ben Porter (2015, Newton North HS, MA) added a double and a single, scoring both times. Jake Farrell also had an RBI double and Andrew Noviello (2015, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg, MA), a Maine commit, scored after reaching with a single. 

U Mass - Lowell commit Endy Sanchez (2015, Suffield Academy, MA) got knocked around but showed impressive arm strength, hitting 91 mph on the gun while sitting 88-91 mph with armside run on it with effortless arm action from a high 3/4 arm angle. He also mixed in a 74-80 mph curve. 

Chilidogs hold on for 3-2 win over Rockets

An early three run lead held up for Homeplate Chilidogs Maldonado as they topped the Easton Rockets 3-2.

Georgia Tech commit Tristin English (2015, Pike County HS, GA) hit a huge two-run homer in the opening frame, driving in Nick DiPonzio (2016, Tattnall Square Academy, GA) who had singled earlier in the inning. CJ Ballard (2015, Pike County HS, GA) singled twice and also stole two bases while Josh Peters (2015, Union Grove HS, GA) scored after reaching on a walk and swiping a bag of his own. Brandon Bell (2015, Whitewater HS, GA) brought in Peters with a ground out.

Ben Hughlon (2015, Whitewater HS, GA) got the start and put in three innings of work, allowing a run on three hits and two walks, striking out one. He worked with a 77-79 mph heater, pairing it with a 70-72 mph slider and 68 mph curve ball. Jordan Schmits (2015, Northgate HS, GA) threw 2.1 innings, striking out two and allowing three walks and one hit. He ran his fastball up to 86 mph, sitting 83-85 mph with a 69-75 mph hook and 77 mph change up. 

Matt Ellmyer (2016, The Benjamin School, FL) knocked in the only run for the Rockets, singling and drawing a walk. Kyle Bauer (2015, Jensen Beach HS, FL) doubled for his only hit and came in to score. Florida Atlantic commit Austin Smith (2015, Park Vista Community HS, FL) scored the other run after reaching on a pair of walks. Baylen Sparks (2015, The Benjamin School, FL) swiped a pair of bags and reached base twice on a single and walk. 

Hunter Whitman (2015, William T Dwyer HS, FL) worked three scoreless innings for the Rockets, striking out three and working around two hits and a walk. He touched as high as 88 mph with his fastball, sitting in the 85-87 mph range with a 67-72 mph curve and 75-79 mph change up. Brady Acker (2015, J P Taravella HS, FL) threw the other four frames and worked in the same range with his heater, sitting 84-88 with a top speed of 89 mph. Acker worked in a 67-71 mph curve and 72 mph change up.  

Panthers fend of Scorpions Prime to stay unbeaten

South Charlotte Panthers 2015 took the lead for good in the 5th inning and held on against Scorpions 2015 Prime for a 5-4 win. 

North Carolina commit Josh Hiatt (2015, Providence HS, NC) was 2-3 for the Panthers, roping the only extra base knock, a double, and also kicking in a single, stolen base and a run scored. Tommy Bullock (2015, Mooresville HS, TN) singled twice and scored both times with a stolen base and Clemson commit Jordan Greene (2015, Charlotte Country Day HS, NC) also hit two singles with three stolen bases and an RBI. 

Andrew Robinson (2016, Eastern Guilford HS, NC) took home the win with 2.1 innings of relief, allowing an unearned run on two hits with two strikes outs and no walks. He sat 84-86 mph with his fastball with a 66-70 mph curve as his offspeed pitch. David Nash (2015, Piedmont HS, NC) got the start and lasted 4.1 frames while hitting 87 mph with his heater and also showing a 69-76 mph curve and 75-77 mph change up.

Ole Miss commit Ramon Alejo (2015, Boone HS, FL) tripled home a run, scored once and reached on a fielder's choice for Scorpions Prime. Jordan Santos (2016, Tampa Catholic, FL) added a double with a run scored, and Cody Brickhouse (2015, Sarasota HS, FL), a Chipola College commit scored once after reaching on a walk and singling later in the game.

Logan Crouse (2015, Bloomingdale HS, FL), a Florida State commit, struck out four in three innings with three runs allowed (one earned) on three hits and a walk. He threw his fastball in the 87-90 mph range with a 77-80 mph hook and 81-85 mph slider while also showing an 80 mph change up. Ryan Welsh (2015, West Orange HS, FL) and West Virginia commit Tanner Campbell (2015, Taylor HS, FL) both topped out at 86 mph with their fastballs with Welsh striking out two in as many innings, and Campbell striking out a pair in one inning of work. Welsh also threw a 66-75 mph curve and a 74 mph change up. 

Knoxville Stars drop Nelson Baseball 4-2

Knoxville Stars 17U was the recipient of timely hitting from the top of the order, taking home their first win of the tourney 4-2 over Nelson Baseball School.

John Sharpe (2015, Christian Academy Knoxville, TN) went 2-3 with a pair of singles that drove in three runs and he also stole a base. Nick Osborne (2015, Sevier County HS, TN) doubled home one, and scored on a single. Hunter Wolfe (2015, Dobyns Bennett HS, VA) came around to score twice after reaching on a walk and a single. 

Chas Hadden (2015, Morristown West HS, TN) got the ball for the start, throwing 5.1 innings with two runs allowed (one earned) on six hits, two hit batters, and a walk with one strike out. He sat 74-78 mph with his heater, topping out at 79 mph with a 63-67 mph curve mixed in. Devante Matthews (2016, Sevier County HS, TN) followed that with 1.2 innings with a strike out and a hit by pitch. Matthews was in the 86-88 mph range with his fastball maxing out at 89 mph while also throwing a 77-81 mph change up and 76 mph curve.

Canon Robinson (2015, North Cobb Christian, GA) led the offense for Nelson Baseball, roping a triple and coming in to score. Brigham Gary (2015, Creekview HS, GA) was credited with the only RBI, driving in Robinson with a single. Ryley Gilliam (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA) scored the other run, reaching on a single.

Reed Massey (2015, Mt. Paran Christian, GA) struck out two in as many innings and also touched 90 mph with his fastball. The cheese sat in the 83-89 mph range and was complimented with a 74-77 mph curve and 80 mph change up. Pennsylvania commit John Alan Kendrick (2015, Calhoun HS, GA) was also bringing the heat, peaking at 88 mph with his fastball while sitting 84-87 mph. He also threw a curve and a change up with the hook coming in at 71-74 mph and the cambio in the 73-74 mph range.

Ruffnecks rally late for first win, 8-2

New England Ruffnecks piled on late, topping the Prospects National Team 8-2. 

Jacob Stevens (2015, Choate Rosemary Hall HS, CT), a Boston College commit, got everything started with a solo shot in the 2nd inning, also working a walk later in the game. Scott Holzwasser (2016, Lincoln-Sudbury Reg, MA) roped a triple and brought home two with a single and a run scored as well. Michael Callander (2015, Duxbury HS, MA) picked up three hits, smacking a double and two singles with an RBI and a run scored.

Stevens also worked an inning on the mound, striking out one with no hits, walks, or runs. He ran his fastball up to 90 mph while sitting 87-90 mph and also featuring a 74-76 mph curve ball. Matt Messier (2015, Lake Region Uhsd #24, VT) struck out two in two innings while hitting 85 mph on the gun with a 69-72 mph hook. Jacob Lamb (2015, Salisbury HS, CT) also hit 85 mph as his peak velocity in an inning of work.

Luke Watson (2015, Cypress Ranch HS, TX) tripled, singled, and drove home two for Prospects National Team, accounting for the majority of their offense. Dylan Hutcheson (2015, Rider HS, TX) stole three bases and scored twice, reaching on a single, getting hit by a pitch and a fielder's choice. Najee Gaskins (2015, Cienega HS, AZ) was hit twice by a pitch and stole a base but did not cross the plate. 

Elijah MacNamee (2015, Cypress Ranch HS, TX) threw four innings and hit 85 mph on the radar gun with his fastball, also showing a 63-69 mph hook and 66-70 mph change up.

Wesley Rodriguez (2015, George Washington Carver, NY) had a great day at the plate for Team Citius Espy in their 11-5 win over Nelson Baseball School. He had two doubles, a homer and seven RBI's.  David Hamilton (2016, San Marcos, TX) went 2 for 3 with a double.  Ezekiel Bear (2016, Cypress Ridge, TX) pitched in with a single and two RBI's. Austin Deleon (2016, Lone Star, TX) started and lasted two innings.  He struck out four while allowing two hits.  Nicholas Padilla (2014, Cardinal Spellman, NY) came in next to pitched five innings.  He fanned eight and walked two. His fastball was in the high 80's and it touched 91 mph.

Canon Robinson (2015, North Cobb Christian, GA) drove in two runs with a double for Nelson.  Spencer Cross (2015, Calhoun, GA) went 2 for 3 with a double. Christian Pope (2015, Hillgrove, GA) threw 1 2/3 innings and struck out two. His fastball touched 87 mph.

It was a pitching duel and Atlanta Blue Jays 17U came on top in their 3-2 win over Northeast Baseball Rays 17U. Zachary Shirey (2015, Spring, TX) started and lasted six innings.  He struck out six and allowed three hits.  His fastball was in the high 80's and topped out at 91 mph. Alex Bialakis (2015, Pope John Paul II, FL) came in for the save.  He struck out the side. His impressive fastball hit 90 mph.  Notre Dame commit Eric Feliz (2015, IMG Academy, NJ) led the offense with two singles and an RBI.  Lorenzo Hampton (2015, Monsignor Edward Pace, FL) pitched in with two singles of his own.

Mason Palmieri  started for the Rays.  In 4 1/3 innings, he fanned two and allowed two hits. Mallett came in to finish the game. He K'ed one and walked two in 2 2/3 innings. Both pitchers had great fastballs that were in the mid 80's and touched 88 mph.

Homer lifts Scorpions

Cameron Montgomery (2015, Olympia, FL) homered in the Scorpions 2015 Prime's 8-1 win over Homeplate Chilidogs Maldonado.  Drew Parrish (2016, Rockledge Senior, FL) pitched in with a single that drove in three runs. Mississippi recruit, Ramon Alejo (2015, Boone, FL) doubled in a run in the win. In two innings, Alex Carpenter (2015, Melbourne Central, FL) fanned one and his fastball was in the mid 80's and touch 89 mph. Kyle Marman (2015, Dr. Phillips, FL) threw three innings and struck out five.  He allowed just one hit and one walk. His fastball was in the high 80's and touched 90 mph.

Top-ranked Tristian English (2015, Pike County, GA) started for the Chilidogs.  In 3 1/3 innings, he struck out five and allowed three hits. His impressive fastball reached 95 mph.

With only eight hits, Palm Beach Select beat Team Citius Jordan 11-0. Cody Wilson (2015, Jupiter, FL) led the offense with two singles. Mack Lemieux (2015, Jupiter, FL) drove in three runs with a single. Noah Meltzer (2015, Jupiter, FL) went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Josh Hiatt (2015, Providence, NC) threw five quality innings for South Charlotte Panthers 2015 in their 8-0 win over Easton Rockets.  He struck out five and allowed a hit. He threw a great fastball in the mid 80's and touched 92 mph. Jake Holtzapple (2016, Providence, NC) led the offense with two singles and came around to score twice.  Aaron Pilkington (2016, Ardrey Kell, NC) hit a two-run homer in the win.

Tristan McKenzie (2015, Royal Palm, FL) started for the Rockets.  He struck out five and allowed three walks. His fastball was in the high 80's and it reached 91 mph. Ryan Nolan (2015, South Fork, FL) came in to throw 2/3 innings.  He allowed two walks. He had a high 80's fastball too.

Knoxville Stars 17U drove in runs in the late innings to come back and tie Florida Burn 2015 Pennant 5-5. Chas Hadden (2015, Morristown West, TN) went 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Brett Browning (2015, South Doyle, TN) pitched in with a single and came around to score.  Nick Osborne (2015, Sevier County, TN) started the game. In 2 1/3 innings, he struck out two and allowed a walk. He threw his fastball in the mid 80's and it reached 88 mph. Jake Griffin (2015, Pigeon Forge, TN) followed and threw 2 2/3 innings.  He fanned four and did not give up a hit.  Devante Matthews (2016, Sevier County, TN) threw the sixth inning and K'ed one. His fastball was in the high 80's and touched 89 mph.

Deacon "Davis" Liput (2015, Oviedo, FL) led the offense with two singles and an RBI. Michael Byrne (2015, Olympia, FL) pitched three quality winnings and struck out five.  He allowed two hits and two walks. He threw an impressive fastball that reached 89 mph.

World's pitchers continue to shine

Chandler World's pitchers threw seven great innings and helped their team beat New England Ruffnecks 2-1.  Michael Bruhin (2015, Dardenne Prairie, MO) started and lasted two innings.  He fanned one and allowed one hit. His fastball was in the high 80's and touched 90 mph. Culver Hughes (2015, West Chester East, PA) came in next.  In five innings, he struck out seven and allowed three hits. His mid 80's fastball touched 91 mph. Connor Klemann (2015, Spring-Ford, PA) went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Devin Davis (2015, Valencia, CA) pitched in with two singles.

Demarini Stars 17U Prime drove in seven runs in the fourth and went on to beat Prospects National Team 9-6.  Tyler Raltiff had a great day at the plate with two home runs and four RBI's.  Michael Kuzbel (2015, Stone Bridge, VA) doubled in a run. Andrew Rozylowicz (2015, Dematha Catholic, MD) threw three innings and struck out two.

Najee Gaskins (2016, Cienega, AZ) led the Prospects with three hits including a double and an RBI.  Connor Queen  pitched in with a triple and an RBI.  Dylan Hutcheson (2015, Rider, TX)  went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Elijah MacNamee (2015, Cypress Ranch, TX) also had two hits in the win.

Scorpions 2105 Prime scored five runs on just two base hits, drawing nine walks against Team Citius Espy for a 5-1 win. 

Florida State commit Cole Sands (2015, North Florida Christian, FL) struck out seven in just three innings, walking two and allowing two hits with a hit by pitch and no runs crossing the dish. Sands touched 93 mph on the bump, sitting 88-91 mph with his fastball from a high 3/4 arm angle with a 71-78 mph curve and 79-82 mph change up. Bowden Francis (2015, Lawton Chiles HS, FL) added two more innings, striking out three with three hits and a run allowed. He hit 91 mph on the gun with his heater, sitting 87-91 mph with a 77-79 mph hook and 77-78 mph change up from a high 3/4 arm angle with good armside run on the heat.

Jonah Garrison (2015, Edgewater HS, FL) launched a solo shot with one of the two Scorpions hits and FSU commit Brendan Rogers (2015, Lake Mary HS, FL) singled home two with the other. Jordan Santos (2016, Tampa Catholic HS, FL), Ole Miss commit Nick Fortes (2015, Deland HS, FL), and Cameron Montgomery (2015, Olympia HS, FL) each worked a pair of walk and scored once with Montgomery also swiping a bag and Santos reaching on an error as well. 

Bennett Oberstein (2015, Plano West Senior HS, TX) doubled and had two singles but was stranded on base each time out. Jacob Parrott (2016, Lovejoy HS, TX) launched a triple and came in to score while Ezekiel Bear (2016, Cypress Ridge HS, TX) doubled, drove home one, and also walked.  

Jordan Wekewa (2014, Naaman Forest HS, TX) and Wesley Rodriguez (2015, George Washington Carver HS, NY) both had scoreless relief appearances with Wekewa working around three walks with two strike outs in one innings while Rodriguez struck out three of the four batters he faced. Wekewa was 86-88 mph with his fastball, touching 89 mph while Rodriguez ran it up to 92 mph while sitting 89-92 mph. He also worked a 74-77 mph curve and 80 mph change up into the mix. 

FL Burn 2015 Pennant fends off Demarini Stars 3-1

Florida Burn 2015 Pennant jumped to an early lead and was able to fend off Demarini Stars 17U Prime for a 3-1 victory.

Dillon McCullough (2015, Pine Ridge HS, FL) and Mercer commit Andrew Kane (2015, Windermere Prep, FL) combined to strike out nine of the 12 batters for the Burn pitching staff, with McCullough notching five punch outs and Kane getting four. McCullough only allowed a single hit, sitting 82-83 mph with a 68-71 mph hook in his two frames and Kane walked two in in three innings without allowing a hit or run. Kane's heater sat 82-85, peaking at 86 mph with a 70-72 mph curve and 75 mph change up.

David Liput (2015, Oviedo HS, FL), a Florida commit, singled twice and drove in one while Jake Smith (2015, Windermere Prep, FL) roped a triple and scored once. Jake Romine (2015, Out-of-Door Academy, FL) scored after reaching on a single and Jimmy Kuebler (2015, Out-of-Door Academy, FL) also singled and scored. 

Colin Reid (2016, Woodgrove HS, VA) doubled and reached on an error for the Demarini Stars 17U Prime squad. Virginia commit Nathan Eikhoff (2015, Patriot HS, VA) drove in the only run with a single and a walk, and Owen Socher (2015, James Madison HS, VA) scored the only run of the game after getting plunked. Garrett St. Laurent (2015, Freedom HS, VA) also singled, accounting for all the base hits in the game. 

Reid also tossed three scoreless innings for the Stars, allowing a pair of hits with no walks or runs and a strike out. He touched 84 mph with his fastball with a 73-74 mph slider, 72 mph curve and 73 mph change up. Brett Jones (2015, Riverdale Baptist HS, MD) struck out two in three innings while getting tagged with the loss but hit 89 mph on the gun, sitting 84-88 mph with armside run and life. Jones also threw a late breaking 78 mph slider and a 72-77 mph curve with 10/4 or 2/8 break.

Team Citius Jordan took advantage of 10 free passes in addition to nine base knocks to take down Atlanta Blue Jays 17U 10-7.

Garrett Hammer (2015, Rocky Mountain HS, CO) was a good example of how their offense was working, drawing three walks and knocking a single with an RBI and a run scored. Reese Barrett (2016, Calallen HS, TX) singled three times and scored once while Ryan Gonzalez (2015, Carrol HS, TX) reached base all three times up with a walk and two singles, scoring twice with two stolen bases. Hunter Pearl (2015, Calallen HS, TX) drove in two with a double, a run scored, and a fielder's choice

Cameron Smith (2015, Garland HS, TX) took the ball and was good enough to earn the win, touching 86 mph with his fastball in the process. His heater sat in the 78-84 mph range and was complimented with a 66-67 mph curve and 78 mph change up. 

Atlanta Blue Jays 17U received a big fly off the bat of Kep Brown (2015, Wando HS, SC), a two-run shot in the first inning where the Blue Jays crossed the plate four times. He added a single, stole a base and came around to score later in the game. Edgar Cruz reached base every time up via the walk, drawing three of them in the game. Joey Bend (2015, Sandalwood HS, FL) singled, stole a base and scored while Lorenzo Hampton (2015, Monsignor Edward Pace HS, FL) plated one with a sac fly and also had a second sacrifice hit. 

Bend struck out two in an inning of work with two hits and a walk allowed with no runs scoring. He worked with his fastball exclusively, sitting 82-85 mph while topping out at 87 mph. John Rice (2015, West Forsyth HS, GA) was knocked around but did hit 85 mph on the gun with his heater.

S Charlotte Panthers outlast HP Chilidogs 2-1

South Charlotte Panthers 2015 benefited from clutch hitting and a stout pitching performance from their starter in a 2-1 victory over Home Plate Chilidogs Maldonado.

The Panthers put Austin Leonard (2015, Providence HS, NC) on the mound to start and he came back with 5.1 innings of work where he struck out nine without a walk, allowing a run on seven hits. He worked his fastball in the 82-85 mph range with a top speed of 86 mph and a late breaking 74-76 mph curve with 11/5 or 1/7 break. Leonard also worked a 71-76 mph slider, and 78 mph change up with good hip rotation and armside run on his cheese from a high 3/4 arm angle. Tommy Bullock (2015, Mooresville HS, NC) kicked in three strike outs in 1.2 innings without allowing a run, working his fastball in the 77-82 mph range with a 67-73 mph hook and 75 mph mystery pitch.

UNC commit Josh Ladowski (2015, Lake Norman HS, NC) brought home both Panthers runs on a single with Max Bazin (2015, South Mecklenburg HS, NC) and Andrew Moritz (2015, Providence HS, NC) crossing the plate. Ladowski also stole a base while Bazin reached on a single and Moritz got on base from a fielder's choice and also swiped a bag. Luke Robinson (2016, Eastern Guilford HS, NC), a North Carolina commit, had the only extra base knock with a double.

Adam Goodman (2015, Starrs Mill HS, GA) was nails in his start for the Chilidogs, throwing five sterling innings with just one hit allowed and five strikeouts with no walks or runs allowed. The Georgia commit's heater topped out at 85 mph while sitting in the 81-84 mph range with a 69-72 mph curve and 77 mph change up from a high 3/4 arm angle.

CJ Ballard (2015, Pike County HS, GA) and South Alabama commit Carter Perkins (2015, Ola HS, GA) each knocked a pair of base hits with Ballard crossing the plate for the only run of the game on two singles with two stolen bases and Perkins roped a double and a single. Clemson commit Cornelius Randolph (2015, Griffin HS, GA) knocked Ballard in with a double and also reached on a fielder's choice.

Chandler World pitchers combined for a no-hitter against Prospects National Team.  Kyle Datres (2015, Loyalsock Twp, PA) started and lasted five innings.  He fanned four and did not walk a hitter. He threw a high 80's fastball that reached 89 mph.  Ryan Connolly (2015, Douglas County, CO) came in to pitched the last two innings.  He struck out one and walked two. His fastball was between 83-85 mph. Connor Klemann (2015, Spring-Ford, PA) led the offense with two hits and came around to score three times.  Greg Pickett (2015, Legend, CO) had a great game with three hits including a double and a homer.  He also drove in three runs.  Devin Davis (2015, Valencia, CA) went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Cody Wilson (2015, Jupiter, FL) went 1 for 2 with a double and drove in 4 runs.  Jacob Koos (2015, Wellington, FL) had a single and an RBI. Mack Lemieux (2015, Jupiter, FL) threw four innings. He fanned seven, allowed three hits and did not walk a batter. His fastball was in the mid 80's and touched 86 mph.

Naushon Galbraith (2015, Dexter, MA) pitched seven quality innings for the Northeast Baseball Rays 17U in their 6-3 win over Nelson Baseball School.  He fanned five while allowing five hits and three walks. Along with his mid 80's fastball, he also threw a mid 70's curveball.  Dante Riccardi (2015, Worcester Academy, MA) went a perfect 3 for 3 with a double. Andrew Noviello (2015, Bridgewater-Raynham, MA) helped out with two singles and came around to score twice.

Two big innings lifted Easton Rockets over the New England Ruffnecks.  Matt Ellmyer (2016, Benjamin School, FL) doubled in two runs for the Rockets. Dakota Julylia (2015, Summit Christian, FL) went 1 for 4 with two RBI's. Kyle Bauer (2015, St. Joseph Academy, FL) drove in a run with a double. Ellmyer also started and threw four innings. He struck out four and allowed one hit.  Austin Smith (2015, Park Vista Community, FL) came in and pitched the rest of the game. In three innings, he fanned four and allowed two hits. He had a high 80's fastball that reached 92 mph.

Michael Callander (2015, Duxbury, MA) led the Ruffnecks with two singles and their only RBI.  Matt Fogarty (2015, Mills, MA) threw three innings and allowed just two hits. His low 80's fastball touched 85. Thomas Novick (2015, Lincoln-Sudbury Reg, MA) came in to throw the last three innings. He fanned three and allowed a hit.
