Jacob Bukauskas
RHP - 2014 - Ashburn, VA
North Carolina
Bukaskas is a very polished pitcher with plus command of his 88-90 mph fastball and sharp breaking upper 70’s slider. It looked like he could have gone 7 innings without a problem.
Nolan Kingham
RHP - 2015 - Las Vegas, NV
Texas
The 6-4/175 Kingham is listed as a primary shortstop but his future is clearly on the mound, potentially as a first rounder in 2015. He pitched at 88-92 with a hard spinning curveball and is extremely projectable. His older brother, Nick, is a top prospect right hander for the Pirates and is pitching in AA as a 21 year old.
John Aiello
SS - 2015 - Lansdale, PA
Wake Forest
The 6-2/195 Aiello may end up at third base but his huge 93 mph infield arm strength will play everywhere on the field. Most intriguing, though, is the fact that the Pennsylvania native is a legit switch-hitter with power and bat speed from both sides of the plate.
Nicholas Shumpert
SS - 2015 - Lone Tree, CO
San Jacinto CC
There haven’t been many home runs on the showcase circuit this summer but Shumpert put his name on the short list with high drive over the left field fence at USD. While Shumpert has the arm strength and range for shortstop, he has a natural flair for playing second as well.
Wyatt Cross
C - 2015 - Broomfield, CO
Indiana/San Jacinto CC
Cross was phenomenal defensively behind the plate, blocking everything that came his way and throwing out at least four runners trying to steal. His 1.79 in drills was impressive enough but his 1.86 and 1.91 strikes in games to nail runners was eye opening. Interestingly, the state of Colorado claims the top two position prospects at this national event.
Matthew McGarry
RHP - 2015 - Portola Valley, CA
Santa Clara
McGarry threw comfortably in the 88-90 range and his fastball got on hitters quickly. His change up was his best secondary pitch this outing and he even looks like he tries to throw it harder than his fastball, the opposite of most young pitchers who tend to slow their arms/bodies on the pitch.
Jonathan India
SS - 2015 - Coral Springs, FL
Florida
If hard pulled foul balls had a category to be counted, India ran up a huge lead, as the right handed hitter repeatedly crushed the ball but often had little to show for it. It’s always fun to see the Florida native play as not only does he have high level tools and skills but he plays the game so hard.
Logan (LT) "Anthony" Tolbert
SS - 2015 - Piedmont, SC
South Carolina
Tolbert has big projection physically at 6-3/175 but already has strength in his bat and a smooth left handed swing. He might end up being a two-way prospect as well, as he was 86-88 on the mound with a fast arm and nice downhill angle.
Brendon Davis
SS - 2015 - Lakewood, CA
Cal State Fullerton
The 6-4/160 Davis is extremely slender and will never be a physical player but he has very fast hands at the plate and a knack for squaring the ball up hard to all fields. He’s also an interesting pitching prospect on the mound with a present mid-80’s fastball.
Danny Blair
OF - 2015 - Bel Air, MD
South Carolina
Blair has a well rounded tool set that includes a strong left handed swing and above average speed but what separates him is his aggressive, full speed style of play. He's a high performance player who is always going to show his tools best in games instead of workouts.
Patrick Sandoval
LHP - 2015 - Mission Viejo, CA
Southern California
Sandoval is a solidly built 6-2/190 southpaw with a strong arm that touched 90 mph on his fastball. His curveball was one of the best breaking balls of the event with hard spin and big depth.
Parker Kelly
C - 2015 - Portland, OR
Oregon
Kelly looks like he’s made some positive swing adjustments since the PG National Underclass Showcase in June and was very good with the bat, driving the ball hard consistently. He was also up to 87 mph on the mound.
Ke'Bryan Hayes
3B - 2015 - Tomball, TX
Tennessee
Charlie Hayes’ son plays the game easily with high level tools both offensively and defensively at third base along with two-way potential on the mound. And any event that one gets to listen to Charlie tell stories before a game is going to be a good event.
Trent Johnson
RHP - 2015 - East Peoria, IL
Tulane/John A. Logan College
Johnson stands out on the mound at 6-4/235 but has a well-coordinated low effort delivery. He pounded the strike zone with a heavy 88-90 mph fastball. How his secondary pitches develop will be key in his development.
Logan Allen
LHP - 2015 - Fletcher, NC
South Carolina
Allen sat in the mid-80’s with his fastball and we’ve seen him up to 89 mph in past. His big weapon is a sharp curveball that he has excellent feel for the velocity and shape.
Ben Leeper
RHP - 2015 - Southlake, TX
Oklahoma State
Leeper is similar to Jacob Bukaskas (above) as a slender young bodied right hander with a polished approach to pitching and a present 88-90 mph fastball. More consistency in his curveball, plus additional strength on his 6-0/165 frame, will move him up the prospect lists.
Ty Buck
3B - 2015 - Red Wing, MN
Iowa Western CC
A former high school teammate of 2012 PG All-American Ryan Boldt up in Minnesota, Buck is a primary third baseman for now but looked like he might have a higher ceiling on the mound, throwing 88 mph easily with a nasty change up. We’re looking forward to seeing more of him as a pitcher in the near future.
Jackson Parthasarathy
P - 2015 - Austin, TX
Rice
Parthasarathy “only” threw in the mid-80’s but the rest of his game is top level. If every young pitcher could learn a delivery with sound and smooth hitters wouldn’t stand a chance. His curveball and change up were outstanding as well.
Braden Comeaux
SS - 2015 - Lake Charles, LA
Rice
Comeaux is the latest top prospect middle infielder from Barbe HS in Louisiana, home of the Cecchini Brothers. He's a 6.6 runner with smooth infield actions and surprising bat speed that is going to keep improving as he adds strength to his 6-0/160 frame.
Lucas Herbert
C - 2015 - San Clemente, CA
UCLA
Herbert stands out defensively at the most challenging position on the field. He's very athletic behind the plate in his shifting and blocking and he'll shut down future running games well. He has a strong right handed line drive swing at the plate.
Blake Rutherford
OF - 2016 - Simi Valley, CA
UCLA
Rutherford has a silky smooth left handed swing and showed the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields. He also ran a 4.15 on a ground ball and looks like he has another gear to his running stride. He just completed his freshman year but already has a verbal commitment to NCAA champion UCLA.
