2007 Top Prospects

William Chapman  OF - 2007 - Los Angeles, CA
UC Davis

The strong athletic OF out of LA showed very good arm strength, throwing 88 mph from the OF, and good speed as he ran a 7.08 in the 60 yd. dash. At the plate, he showed good bat speed and the ball jumped off his bat. He is a must-follow in CA in the 07 class.

Taylor Cole  SS - 2007 - Las Vegas, NV
College of Southern Nevada

Cole is a strong athletic IF who showed soft hands and a quick release throwing 84 mph across the diamond. At the plate, he showed a quick bat with a projectible swing. On the mound, he showed very quick arm speed and pure strength throwing an 87 mph FB. Taylor has the potential to be a very good two-way prospect in college.

Connor Bernatz  OF - 2007 - Newport Beach, CA
San Francisco

Bernatz is a lean athletic OF who showed very good speed, running a 7.00-60 yd. dash. He also showed good range in the OF with a strong and accurate arm. At the plate, he had a quick and easy swing with some obvious power.

Bryce Tafelski  C - 2007 - Los Olivos, CA
UC Santa Barbara

Tafelski was the best catching prospect at the event, showing very good arm strength and quickness behind the plate. He threw 78 mph with a POP time of 1.96, while also showing good blocking ability. At the plate he showed present strength with power to the gaps.

Ryan Richardson  RHP - 2007 - Tustin, CA
John A. Logan College

Richardson has a very projectable frame with a very live 85 mph FB. He consistently throws strikes, mixing in his late biting CB. Ryan definitely knows how to pitch effectively and will be a must-follow in the next year.

Justin Lindsey  SS - 2007 - Gilbert, AZ

Lindsey is a tall, lean, athletic IF who projects to be a 3B in the future. He has good hands and a quick, accurate release as he topped out at 81 mph across the infield. As a switch-hitter, he has a smooth swing with good bat speed. On the mound he topped out at 84 mph with his FB. He kept batters guessing with his CB, which could very well end up being his best pitch. Lindsey is a definite two-way player at the next level.


2008 Top Prospects

Chris Amezquita  SS - 2008 - La Mirada, CA
UCLA

This young 08 showed good actions throwing across the IF throwing 80 mph with balanced footwork and soft hands. At the plate, he showed good bat speed with some hidden strength. On the mound, he showed an 85 mph FB with a 66 mph late-breaking CB.

Zach MacPhee  SS - 2008 - Glendale, AZ
Arizona State

MacPhee is a strong young 08 with a cannon across the IF, topping out at 88 mph during the workout. He had very sure hands and good footwork in the field. Zach is a smart contact hitter at the plate as he uses all fields well.

John Lamb  LHP - 2008 - Laguna Hills, CA

Lamb is a young, lean, projectable prospect with two-way potential at the next level. He is a crafty LHP with an 83 mph FB and a 65 mph CH, which he has a good feel for. In the field, he is a good sound 1B with good hands and footwork.


2009 Top Prospects

Tyler Bighames  SS - 2009 - Estero, FL
Oregon

Bighames is a very young MIF who showed a very loose and easy swing with good bat speed. In the field, he displayed very soft hands. Tyler has the potential to grow into a very good player, once he matures and adds the necessary strength.
