2012 Top Prospects

Matthew Hasenbeck  RHP - 2012 - Eureka, MO
Union College (Kentucky)

Fastball comfortably in the 90-92 range with life at the plate. Worked both sides of plate with fastball. Slider was sharp with good tilt and also showed feel for straight change up with occasional cutting action.

Robbie Gordon  RHP - 2012 - St. Louis, MO
Maryville University of Saint Louis

Good pitching body, has room to fill out more and add strength. Quick tempo delivery with good balance. Fastball was up to 92 sitting 89-91 clean delivery. Showed solid feel for change up that flashes plus potential.

Nathan Prindle  SS - 2012 - Chatham, IL
Lindenwood University

Athletic MIF with good hands and feet. Ran a 6.58 sixty and threw 85 across diamond with carry. Showed present bat speed and good leverage in swing.


2014 Top Prospects

Jeffery Scott  C - 2014 - Forest, IN
Bowling Green State/Lincoln Trail College

Uncommitted catcher who had a very solid day all around starting with a 6.92 sixty. Showed arm strength with an 82 MPH throw behind the plate and a showcase best 1.87 pop with solid actions and feet behind the plate. Made consistent contact hard contact during the game with a nice line drive swing plane.


2016 Top Prospects

Spencer Van Scoyoc  LHP - 2016 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Arizona State

The ASU recruit may have saved his best outing at a PG event for his last as he was a personal best 92 with his fastball and showed advanced feel for his curveball which may be one of the best in the high school ranks and mixed in a few cutters at 85 that had late movement. Also showed well at the plate with an easy swing and solid contact.

Dion Henderson  LHP - 2016 - Detroit, MI
TCU

The Perfect Game All American and TCU recruit was up to 90 with life at the plate. The long lean pitcher has plenty of room to fill out and add more strength. Good balance and direction to the plate. Had feel for cruveball throwing it in the zone and burying it with two strikes.

Joe Acker  OF - 2016 - Waukesha, WI
Nebraska

The Nebraska recruit showed solid tools at the plate and in the outfield. Joe has a compact, line drive swing plane with a gap to gap approach. Has excellent barrel control showing hard, consistent contact in batting practice and game play. Joe also has excellent closing speed in the outfield paired with plus arm strength topping at 94 mph from the outfield.

Kyle Crowl  MIF - 2016 - Council Bluffs, IA
Iowa

The University of Iowa recruit continues to impress on both sides of the field. At the plate showed possibly one of the best rounds at a PG event hitting multiple screaming lines drives to both gaps. Kyle has excellent balance paired with fast twitch actions that certainly plays at the next level. Kyle also showed smooth, athletic actions throughout the defensive workout with easy range to each side.

Grant Judkins  3B - 2016 - Pella, IA
Iowa

The Iowa recruit showed tools on the mound as well at the plate. Has quick arm action on the mound with his fastball up to 90 and threw 85 across the diamond. Has line drive swing plane with good lift and flashed power to the pull side.

Alec Marsh  RHP - 2016 - Milwaukee, WI
Arizona State

The ASU recruit knows how to pitch, with a high 80's low 90's fastball topping at 91, he works online to the plate with good down plane to the plate. Does good job of mixing in a curveball and change up. The breaking ball had good 11/5 shape with tight rotation and showed a change up on the same plane as his fastball.

Travis Ray  3B - 2016 - Tallahassee, FL
Abraham Baldwin College

Travis showed big power during batting practice hitting 3 home runs, easily clearing the wall and muiltiple hard line drives to the warning track. Showed off his athletic ability defensively with a charging bare hand play as well as a diving attempt to glove hand side to cut of a hard hit ground ball. Travis projects well at the next level as a power hitting corner infielder.

Joey Polak  3B - 2016 - Quincy, IL
Missouri State/Jefferson College

The South Carolina recruit had loud, consistent contact throughout his batting practice round. Joey showed smooth actions throughout his swing while generating plus bat speed through contact. Excellent hand and barrel skills in all parts of the zone allowing him to drive the baseball to all fields.

Jalen Evans  RHP - 2016 - Warren, MI
Texas Wesleyan University/Western Oklahoma State College

Plenty of upside for the Alvin CC recruit, was up to 91 on the mound with good arm speed and quickness through release. Showed feel for a developing curveball with 11/5 curveball.

RJ Freure  RHP - 2016 - Burlington, ON CAN
Pittsburgh

Strong athletic build, up to 91 with good down plane on his fastball. Has quick tempo and pounded the lower part of the zone with his fastball. Mixed in 11/5 curveball with good shape and spin. Had feel for change up with cutting action.

Kole Kampen  LHP - 2016 - Fort Dodge, IA
Iowa

The Iowa recruit was impressive in his two innings of work topping at 90 with his fastball to the glove side. Repeats delivery well and mixed in both a curveball at 74 and slider at 78 with tight break on both.

Connor Kimple  OF - 2016 - Whitefish Bay, WI
Louisiana-Lafayette/South Mountain CC

Shows plenty of tools to be a two way prospect with good arm strength from the OF, (88) and being a plus runner (6.55 sixty). Arm strength shows on mound as well as he sat in the upper 80's topping at 89 with more to come. Was up to 90 a few weeks back at the PG Spring Top.

Adam Lukas  RHP - 2016 - Grafton, WI
Evansville

The Evansville recruit was up to 91 on the mound with a very loose quick arm action. Repeats delivery well and mixes in a slider that shows potential with good bite and tilt at plate. Also showed a change up with good down plane and arm speed.

Austin McNicholas  SS - 2016 - Austin, TX
Louisiana State University, Shreveport

The Texas recruit showed tools across the board running a 6.96 sixty, throwing 86 across diamond with clean actions and a quick arm, and popped a 1.97 behind the plate with good hands and feet gaining ground to second. Had nice line drive swing plane with quiet hands and a consistent barrel path.

Nick Morreale  RHP - 2016 - Lake Elmo, MN
Georgetown

The Georgetown recruit has a long lean build with plenty of room to add more strength and muscle. Works lower half of zone well with high 80's fastball that topped at 90.

Ben Norman  OF - 2016 - Des Moines, IA
Iowa

The Iowa recruit showed smooth actions in the field and at the plate. Ben has a pure stroke with the ability to hit to all fields with some pop. Flashes plus bat speed when turning the barrel to pitches inner half, driving the baseball through the right centerfield gap. Ben also has exceptional speed in the outfield, running a 6.49 sixty-yard dash and clean glove actions.

Kevin Welsh  SS - 2016 - Columbus, NJ
Rutgers

The Rutgers recruit showed off his tools in the outfield as well as at the plate. Travis showed athletic actions while closing and plus arm strength at 91 mph. The New Jersey native also has a mature approach at the plate with a compact, line drive swing plane and ability to hit to all fields. His barrel control and pop stood out in batting practice.

Keaton Winn  RHP - 2016 - Ollie, IA
Mississippi State/Iowa Western CC

The Iowa Western CC recruit has good command and feel for a sharp curveball and a developing change up to go along with his high 80's low 90's fastball that showed good life down in the zone. His fastball topped at 91. Has plenty of room to fill out and add strength which will increase velocity.


2018 Top Prospects

Brayden Frazier  IF - 2018 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Iowa

The youngest player at the event showed solid tools across the board. The athletic MIF ran a 6.97 and threw 89 across the diamond while showing a nice line drive swing plane with present bat speed and power potential.
