2007 Top Prospects

Steven Bone  C - 2007 - Toronto, ON CAN
Uncommitted

Bone showed nice receiving skills and an accurate arm. He also swung the bat very well in batting practice and in games.

Brad Buehler  RHP - 2007 - Barnhart, KS
Missouri

Buehler showed a very strong arm from the outfield and a solid swing at the plate. Also could be considered a top pitcher, threw 86 mph from the mound with a nice change-up at 75 mph.

Tyler Burgoon  C - 2007 - Defiance, OH
Michigan

Burgoon showed nice hands, athletic actions and a strong accurate arm that produced pop times around or under 2.00.

James Coleman  OF - 2007 - Chicago, IL
Prairie View A&M

Coleman showed great athleticism and was the top runner at the event, running a 6.75 seconds on a slow, wet track. Coleman showed good outfield actions and raw bat speed at the plate.

Joseph Devine  RHP - 2007 - Henderson, KY
Louisville

Devine showed a very strong arm and nice actions on the infield. He also showed an 81 mph FB with good sink on the mound.

Ryan Faidley  OF - 2007 - Crystal Lake, IL
Eastern Kentucky

Faidley has a strong athletic build and showed a strong arm from the outfield. His actions in the outfield and infield are very good. At the plate he showed good bat speed and made hard contact.

Colton Highlander  RHP - 2007 - Augusta, KY
Volunteer State CC

Highlander is a big RHP with a very projectable body. At present his arm works well and his fastball is 84 mph with good life. He also spins a nice slider at 70 mph. He may will be a 90 mph arm as he develops.

Bryce Jenney  RHP - 2007 - Northville, MI
Western Kentucky

Jenny showed good actions and a strong arm in the infield and outfield. Everything he does seems effortless. Also swung the bat well from the left side.

Sam Jones  3B - 2007 - Belleville, MI

Jones showed easy fielding actions with a strong accurate arm and a quick release. Very polished in the field.

John LaCorte  RHP - 2007 - Whitehall, OH

LaCorte showed nice infield actions, and a quick fluid release. Made all the plays during the games. Showed a nice 83 mph fastball and 68 mph curveball combo on the mound.

Bret Spencer  RHP - 2007 - Northville, MI

Spencer is a strong bodied player with a nice swing that showed gap power. He seemed to hit everything hard. He also showed potential on the mound with an 80 mph fastball and a good change at 73 mph.

Joshua Walls  C - 2007 - Somerset, KY

Walls showed a quick release from behind the plate with pop times around 2.00. He also showed a nice approach at the plate with good bat speed.

Nathan Woods  RHP - 2007 - Cedar Rapids, IA

Woods was dominating during his 3 innings of work. He struck out 6 and used his 84 mph fastball and good 71 mph curveball to record 9 straight outs.


2008 Top Prospects

Shane Delligatta  C - 2008 - Sidney, OH

Delligatta showed smooth actions and a strong arm. He also was one of the better hitters at the event. Good all-around player.

Trent Howard  LHP - 2008 - Hammond, IN
Central Michigan

Howard showed very good arm strength from the outfield and a short quick stroke at the plate. A 2008 to follow.

Corey Kimes  LHP - 2008 - Ottawa, IL
Illinois

Kimes is a big bodied LHP with a heavy 84 mph fastball. He also showed a CB at 70 mph and a change at 71 mph. A very young 2008, Kimes could throw in the 90s by the time he is done maturing.

Jordan Sivertsen  RHP - 2008 - Richmond, IL
Southern Illinois

Sivertsen has a good pitchers frame and worked in the 85-86 mph range with his fastball that showed heavy sink. He also showed good command of a slider at 74 mph and a change at 71 mph. A definite 2008 to follow!
