2009 Top Prospects

Shawn Blackwell - RHP - 2009 - League City, TX
Shawn showed big upside on the mound with a fastball that topped out at 88 and a hammer 12 to 6 curveball. He has a clean arm action and mechanics, and his fastball velocity projects well.

Casey Upperman - RHP - 2009 - Phoenix, AZ
Casey has a lean athletic build and showed the most electric arm at the event topping out at 90. The ball jumps out of his hand with good life and it is easy to see him adding more velocity as he gets stronger.

Chad Christensen - 3B - 2009 - Cedar Rapids, IA
A big-time all-around athlete, Chad has the tools to be a highest-level two-way prospect. He has big offensive tools and could project at almost any position with his combination of speed and arm strength.

Mason Leavitt - LHP - 2009 - Frisco, TX
A polished LHP Mason has feel for three pitches and topped out at 86 with his fastball. He has a clean delivery and mechanics, and his velocity projects well for the future.

David Washington - 1B - 2009 - San Diego, CA
A physically imposing presence on the field, David has the hitting ability and power to project as a highest-level college player in the next few years and possibly attract some draft attention.

Mark Appel - RHP - 2009 - San Ramon, CA
Mark was one of the most projectable players at the event with a fastball that jumped out of his hand and topped out at 87. He has the making of some quality off-speed pitches and his velocity should continue to jump as he gets stronger.

Patrick Christensen - RHP - 2009 - LaJolla, CA
Patrick profiles very well on the mound with a tall athletic build and a loose easy arm action. He topped out at 85, but it is easy to see more in him.

Ryan Hill - 2B - 2009 - Huntington Beach, CA
Hill is a player that excels in all facets of the game. His hitting tools and very solid defensive actions should make him a highest-level college prospect.

Tyler Durant - RHP - 2009 - Eldridge, IA
Tyler is a good athlete that shows good offensive tools and has the tools necessary to be a two-way player at the next level. He topped out at 84 on the mound with lots of life on his fastball.

Jonathan Meyer - RHP - 2009 - San Diego, CA
Jonathan is a solid all-around athlete that has solid two-way potential on the mound and in the field. His velocity projects well on the mound and he has a good feel for pitching.

Brennan Moore - MIF - 2009 - Decatur, TX
Brennan showed good raw hitting tools at the showcase and showed the actions and arm strength to project at a number of different positions. He has the versatility to be very valuable to many college programs.

Kurt Giller - RHP - 2009 - Manhattan, KS
Kurt topped out at 85 during the showcase and showed a good feel for pitching. He has a low effort delivery and is very deceptive to hitters.

Michael Frank - 3B - 2009 - Tiburon, CA
Michael is a solid player that showed his best tools at third base. He has big raw arm strength and the offensive tools to hit at the next level.


2010 Top Prospects

Kellen Sweeney - SS - 2010 - Cedar Rapids, IA
The 2010 grad is the younger brother of Ryan Sweeney and looks to have the tools to be one of the top players in his class. He shows big offensive tools and has the arm strength and speed to project at a number of different positions. Kellen is a player that could attract the attention of many pro teams in the next few years.

Eric Goetz - SS - 2010 - Glendale, AZ
A 2010 grad, Goetz, showed big upside on the mound topping out at 88 with late life on his fastball. He has a very clean delivery and mechanics and shows a good feel for his off-speed pitches. Eric is a player that should make a lot of noise over the next few years and will be one of the top players in his class.

Bret Dahlson - RHP - 2010 - Yorba Linda, CA
A 2010 grad, Dahlson has a clean arm action and topped out at 87 at the showcase. He has good life on his pitches and shows a nice feel for his off-speed pitches.

Brando Tessar - RHP - 2010 - Simi Valley, CA
A 2010 grad, Brando has a good feel for pitching and projects very well on the mound. He has good life on his pitches and shows the making of an above average slider.

Kyle Bacak - C - 2010 - Katy, TX
A 2010 grad, Kyle showed the best defensive tools of any catcher at the event. He has a strong arm and a quick release and should project as a highest-level college prospect.

Matt Cook - LHP - 2010 - Tucson, AZ
A 2010 grad Matt has a loose easy arm action and topped out at 82. His fastball has nice life and he has a good overall feel for pitching.

Victor Diaz - RHP - 2010 - Hopelawn, NJ
A 2010 grad Victor topped out at 84 on the mound with clean easy arm action. He has a solid feel for pitching and should attract the attention of many college programs in the next few years.
