2015 Top Prospects

Noel Cheneau III  OF - 2015 - New Orleans, LA
Alabama State/Spartanburg Methodist College

Full of quick twitch muscle, Cheneau made his presence felt throughout the weekend, running a blazing 6.53 in the 60 yard dash. Cheneau also shined defensively showing soft hands with very good range and threw 87 mph across the diamond. Also has strong contact skills from both sides of the plate with a nice feel for the barrel.

Mark Moclair  RHP - 2015 - Seffner, FL
Tampa

Moclair moved over to the World Showcase and threw very well, sitting in the upper 80's and flashed some quality to his curveball and changeup. He hasn't been pitching long and should continue to improve with repetitions and strength.

Brandon Odachowski  C - 2015 - Williamston, SC

Odachowski had a strong, consistent showing over the weekend, shining both behind the plate and with the bat. Strongly built, Odachowski popped the event's best time (1.90) and showed the best velocity (77), while receiving well with athletic actions behind the plate. With a fluid swing he makes hard contact with solid bat speed and strength to his pull side.

Christian Cabrera  OF - 2015 - Miami, FL
Broward CC

A left-handed batter, Cabrera showed a smooth, leveraged swing with strength coming off the barrel. Cabrera generates solid bat speed and shifts his weight through the ball, showing pop and loft to pull side, showing the ability to hit gap-to-gap. He also threw 82 mph from the outfield.

Jose De La Cruz  SS - 2015 - New York, NY

De La Cruz tied for the best infield velocity of the event at 87 mph, and also showed sound overall defensive actions. He also threw 89 mph from the outfield and flashed above average bat speed at the plate.

Pablo Delgado  SS - 2015 - Carolina, PR

Delgado showed good bat speed an ability to consistently drive the ball into the gaps in game action. His athleticism also stood out, and he threw 84 across the diamond.

Eddie Emerson  LHP - 2015 - Lewiston, ME
Maine

Emerson impressed on the mound, pounding downhill with a fastball that topped at 86 mph, working comfortable in the mid-80s with sharp angle to both sides of the plate. He also showed a power curveball at 76 mph tight tight spin and hard, downward depth.

Brandon Fitzpatrick  SS - 2015 - Naples, FL

With a long, projectable frame, Fitzpatrick showed next level strength in his left-handed swing. He generates natural lift in his swing and shows power to his pull side while getting the barrel through the zone. He also jumped on the mound and showed arm strength topping at 82 mph.

Jake Fowler  RHP - 2015 - New Port Richey, FL

With a balanced delivery, Fowler pounded low to glove side from an over the top arm slot with his fastball that topped at 86 mph and worked in the low/mid-80s throughout. Fowler shows a quick arm and downhill plane on fastball and showed a 12-6 curveball with depth for strikes and a good feel for it.

Mario Negueruela  C - 2015 - Hialeah, FL
Chattanooga State Technical CC

Negueruela was making an impression all over the field at this event, racking up hits in game action and showing an advanced approach. He also looks the part behind the plate and posted an impressive 1.96 pop time.

Adrian Perez  OF - 2015 - Coral Springs, FL

Showing a consistent ability to drive the ball to the middle of the field, Perez showed one of the most sound swing paths at the event and had life off the barrel to prove it. He also posted one of the best 60 yard dash times of the week at 6.92 and showed above average athleticism.

Sterling Smith  OF - 2015 - Dacula, GA

Sterling stood out in multiple facets of the game in the showcase, showing an ability to drive the ball in game action and generate a quick, consistent swing path. He also performed well in the workouts, posting an 87 mph reading from the outfield and running a 6.91 60 yard dash.

Roderick Thomas  2B - 2015 - Atlanta, GA

Thomas moves well on his feet defensively, fitting the up the middle profile showing quick footwork and strength on throws across. A right-handed hitter, Thomas shows a nice feel for the barrel, getting it through the zone and creating consistent contact to the middle of the field.

Oscar Torres  3B - 2015 - Brooklyn, NY
Prince George’s CC

One of the most lively bats in attendance, Torres produces consistent line drives to the middle of the field and shows good bat speed in the process. He also showed sound infield actions and threw 81 mph across the diamond.


2016 Top Prospects

Chancellor Johnson  RHP - 2016 - Newnan, GA
Uncommitted

An impressive physical specimen, Johnson still has significant filling out to do on his lanky, projectable 6-foot-6 frame. The two sport star also is a standout quarterback. He topped at 86 mph with his fastball, showing late life through the zone an ability to spin a tight breaking ball. The sky is the limit for this righty.

Daniel Seres  C - 2016 - Canton, GA
Kennesaw State

Only a junior, Seres showed well on both sides of the ball and played well against the older competition. He popped a 1.91 behind the plate, receives well, and shows light footwork behind the plate. Strongly built, Seres showed a quick bat with loose and fast hands with strength coming off the barrel to pull side.
