2016 Top Prospects

Holden White  LHP - 2016 - Wallingford, CT
Wake Forest

Committed to Wake Forest, Holden White impressed during his three innings on the mound as the projectable left-hander created hard angle and lived low in the zone with his fastball that sat in the 85-88 mph range. His arm action is loose and as he continues to fill out his 6-foot-3 frame it's easy to envision more velocity on the way. f

Jack Berczi  LHP - 2016 - Oakville, ON CAN
Hofstra

Working from a quick and low three-quarter arm slot, the uncommitted Berczi ran his fastball up to 86 mph frequently and made for an uncomfortable at-bat with the sink and run he was able to generate. His 6-foot-3 frame projects well with room to fill out and was already able to stay off barrels and miss bats with the amount of life on his heater.

Ryan Rijo  1B - 2016 - Barrie, ON CAN
New Mexico Junior College

Rijo opened eyes during the Friday night workout with his strong left-handed bat as he launched several home runs that cleared the fence with ease, showing big power and bat speed. Throughout the weekend Rijo also showed his hit tool with hard contact to all fields and impressive arm strength across the diamond with a top throw of 83 mph.

Rob Griswold  SS - 2016 - Milford, CT
Long Island University

Griswold swung the bat well over the weekend showing a short and quick stroke with hard contact coming off the barrel to his pull side. He also shined defensively during games and drills with loose, athletic actions to the ball and a very quick release before showing off his loose and whippy arm action across the diamond.

Mike Pascoe  RHP - 2016 - Poughkeepsie, NY
San Jacinto CC

Pascoe impressed during his time on the mound as he showed a full three pitch mix and a nice feel for each offering. With a fastball that he ran up to 86 mph, the uncommitted right-hander was able to work his heater in on batters while showing both a 12-6 curveball with depth an a changeup at 80 mph that featured late diving life.

Alfredo Jose (AJ) Arias  SS - 2016 - East Brunswick, NJ
Mercer County CC

Arias showed off his quick-twitch athleticism by first running a 6.85 60-yard dash and then showed the same quickness in the infield with sound athletic actions and solid arm strength across the diamond, up to 86 mph. He shows a short path to the ball with his easy right-handed stroke while creating leverage with strength when squared off the barrel.

Andre Ceballos  RHP - 2016 - Allston, MA
Uncommitted

A primary right-handed pitcher, Ceballos showed off interesting two-way potential as he also showed off an impressive right-handed swing. Running his fastball up to 85 mph with a nice slider and changeup from a lower three-quarter slot, the uncommitted Ceballos showed a strong swing with good carry to his pull side and bat speed through the zone.

Sam Czel  OF - 2016 - Newtown, CT
Keene State College

Full of quick twitch muscle, Czel began his showcase by turning in the quickest 60-yard dash time of the event with an impressive 6.55. From the outfield he shows a quick and repeatable arm action with accurate throws and shows an easy right-handed swing with which he stays short to the ball with some leverage and extension out front.

Stephen Fleury  RHP - 2016 - Wilbraham, MA
Uncommitted

Fleury impressed during his outing as the right-hander ran his fastball up to 84 mph and did so while hiding the ball through the back and living low in the zone with running life to his arm side. His difference maker however was his breaking ball up to 73 mph which he located well to his arm side with depth, inducing plenty of swings and misses.

Nathan Florence  RHP - 2016 - Wilbraham, MA
Hartford

Committed to the University of Hartford, Florence came out and topped 84 mph throughout his time on the mound showing downhill plane on the pitch with consistent cutting life to his glove side. Florence projects for more velocity on his fastball and already shows a nice feel for his breaking ball up to 76 mph.

Marcus Fry  OF - 2016 - Mansfield Center, CT
Massachusetts

Fry, a University of Massachusetts commit, put together a nice weekend and showed well in all facets of his game. A primary outfielder, Fry topped out at 87 mph with his best throw and continued to show arm strength both on the mound and across the infield. Swinging from the right side, Fry generates solid bat speed with extension out front and creates hard contact off the barrel.

Derek Kasperzyk  SS - 2016 - Killingworth, CT
Quinnipiac

Full of quick-twitch muscle, Kasperzyk ran an impressive 6.59 60-yard dash and then showed that speed in game both playing defense and on the bases. He showed off his arm strength both from the outfield (86 mph) and from the infield (84 mph) and showed nice balance in his right-handed swing with a short and quick path to the ball.

J.P. Knight  SS - 2016 - South Boston, MA
Tufts University

Knight showed a very quick and tight arm action which he used to produce a top throw of 84 mph while putting his range and athletic defensive actions on display. His glove work is clean and shows the ability to pick it with backhand while doing a nice job of creating consistent contact to his pull side with strength off the barrel.

Trevor Lyne  OF - 2016 - Feeding Hills, MA

Lyne put his quick-twitch muscle and athleticism on display, showing off big arm strength throughout the weekend. After running a 6.86 60-yard dash, Lyne topped the charts with both his throws from the outfield (91 mph) and infield (88 mph). With a lean and projectable 6-foot frame, the uncommitted Lyne also showed a short and quick swing with a feel for the barrel.

Andre Marrero  OF - 2016 - West Springfield, MA
Quinnipiac

Already committed to Quinnipiac, Marrero impressed on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. After running a 6.81 60-yard dash to begin his showcase, Marrero then threw 84 mph from the outfield with sound defensive mechanics. He showed a short and quick path to the ball with consistent barreled contact throughout the weekend.

Jake Oliger  OF - 2016 - Newtown, CT

With a projectable 6-foot frame Oliger made a loud impression with his right-handed swing as he creates big bat speed with the ability to generate loft and leverage at contact. He already hits the ball hard and projects well with added strength. He moves well to the ball in the outfield and shows fluidity in his arm action with helped produce a top throw of 85 mph with sound athletic actions.

Elijah Roe  OF - 2016 - Auburn, ME
Uncommitted

Roe impressed in all parts of his game, both defensively and with his right-handed swing. With a projectable 6-foot-2 frame the uncommitted Roe showed both balance and leverage in his swing with a consistent approach at the plate. His pop time was tied for the event's best at 1.97 and his arm strength also stood out behind the plate (81 mph) as did his athleticism defensively.

Isaiah Spears  C - 2016 - Brooklyn, NY
Uncommitted

Spears swing is simple and repeatable from the right side and with quick hands he was able to create consistent and hard to his pull side with the ball coming off his barrel with solid jump. A primary catcher, Spears showed his arm strength with a throw of 78 mph and a pop time of 1.97.

Justin Stromski  OF - 2016 - Manorville, NY
Southern New Hampshire

A right-handed hitter, Stromski swung a loud bat throughout the weekend as he created loud and consistent contact to both gaps. Staying short to the ball the uncommitted Stromski generated solid bat speed through the zone and he also topped out at 82 mph from the outfield.

Michael White  RHP - 2016 - Stamford, CT
Stonehill College

White has a strong and broad 6-foot frame and used his strength well to generate a fastball that peaked at 85 mph with solid downhill plane, showing the ability to live down in the zone. He located well to his glove side with his fastball that featured cutting life and also showed a 12-6 curveball with depth in the low-70s.


2017 Top Prospects

Chris Galland  OF - 2017 - Sudbury, MA
Boston College

Galland impressed throughout the workout portion of the event as he ran an impressive 6.70 60-yard dash and threw 86 mph with his top throw from the outfield. His barrel to ball skills shined during live at-bats as he showed a smooth swing plane with steady contact to his pull side. His speed and athleticism were also on display as he swiped four bases in a single game.

Jensen Lapoint  C - 2017 - Kennebunk, ME
James Madison/Pitt CC

Lapoint swung a hot right-handed stick throughout the weekend, showing a balanced and repeatable swings with interesting strength off the barrel. At 6-foot-2, 210-pounds Lapoint showed off his strength during living pitching as he drilled a ball over the left field fence and hit a hard double to his pull side. He also was tied for an event best 83 mph throw from first base across the diamond.

Myles McKisic  SS - 2017 - Delray Beach, FL
Pensacola State

McKisic showed off his two-way potential throughout the weekend and began his event by running a 6.80 60-yard dash. A projectable 6-foot-2 frame, McKisic showed range in the infield with quick-twitch actions and arm strength up to 84 mph across the diamond. On the mound he topped out at 83 mph while showing a middle of the field approach in the batters box.

Jakob Newton  SS - 2017 - Oakville, ON CAN
Florida Tech

Newton came down from Ontario for the weekend showcase and put all of his tools on display. A projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame, Newton showed off sound, athletic actions with quick footwork and strength on his throws across. Digging in from the left side Newton has fluidity in his swing with extension out front. He also ran a 6.86 60-yard dash.

Noah Skirrow  RHP - 2017 - Stoney Creek, ON CAN
Liberty University

With a strong 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame the right-handed Skirrow worked comfortably in the low to mid-80s with his fastball and peaked at 86 mph. He works from a higher release point and does a nice job of creating extension out front while commanding two different breaking balls throughout the zone.
