2016 Top Prospects

Justin King  OF - 2016 - Okotoks, AB CAN
Alabama/Indian Hills CC

We learned right at the start of the showcase that the left handed hitting Canadian recently committed to Northern Kentucky. King is very strong and can really drive the ball hard, hitting a couple of batting practice home runs and a couple of game doubles to right centerfield.

Anthony Amicangelo  OF - 2016 - Bremerton, WA
South Carolina/Johnson County CC

Amicangelo is a very good athlete with sub-7.0 speed in the sixty and a strong throwing arm from both the outfield and infield. He has strength in his right handed swing and will keep improving with some adjustments to learn how to drive the ball more consistently

Alex Tisminezky  RHP - 2016 - Las Vegas, NV
Santa Clara/College of Southern Nevada

Tisminezky was the top pitching prospect at the showcase, topping out at 85 mph with lots of life and showing a big breaking and tight downer curveball at 72 mph. He filled up the strike zone with both pitches and had an easy three innings.

Hayden Luff  OF - 2016 - Thousand Oaks, CA
Benedictine University

The 6-4/200 Luff and Quinn Waterbury (below) are very similar prospects; both left handed hitters with good bat speed and lots of projection, plus the ability to pitch in the low to mid-80's on the mound. Luff's curveball and changeup were advanced for a secondary pitcher.

Quinn Waterbury  1B - 2016 - Prosper, TX
Uncommitted

The 6-5/210 Waterbury has some two-way potential, especially as he gets stronger. He has a short left handed swing that is more gap to gap/high average oriented now and was up to 83 mph on the mound with a loose and projectable arm action.

Braxton Bennett  RHP - 2016 - Sierra Vista, AZ
Eastern Arizona College

Bennett was yet another athlete who impressed with his two way potential. He topped out at 83 mph on the mound but may have a higher ceiling as an outfielder, with 6.9 speed and a loose right handed swing that really showed well in the games.

Alex Cimaroli  SS - 2016 - Portage, WI
Uncommitted

Cimaroli came all the way from Wisconsin for the showcase and played well on both sides of the ball. He's a very sound fundamental player who is a good athlete, especially on defense.

Donovan McMullen  C - 2016 - Phoenix, AZ
Uncommitted

McMullen has a very projectable 6-4/185 build and is quick and athletic behind the plate, with good lower half quickness. He has a strong middle of the field approach offensively and hit the ball hard a number of times.

Jason Drees  OF - 2016 - Stevenson Ranch, CA
Uncommitted

Drees is a well rounded athlete, with 7.0 speed in the sixty and a nice left handed swing that showed power in batting practice and the ability to drive the ball hard in games.

AJ Medina  3B - 2016 - Valencia, CA
Uncommitted

Medina has enough strength to hit and has a very nice left handed swing that impacts the ball hard and consistently.

Free Agents Top Prospects

Jye Deeble  LHP - Free Agents - Carrara, QLD AUS
Central Arizona CC

Deeble came all the way to Arizona from Australia and was solid on the mound, topping out at 83 mph with some deception on his fastball and really spinning the ball well from a mid-3/4's arm slot
