Just got word from pitching coach Scott Forbes the Tar Heels will go with Chris Munnelly, Patrick Johnson, Mike Morin and Kent Emmanuel.

I like the idea of not starting Johnson to start the weekend, and saving him for Cal State Fullerton.

thoughts?

I love it. It means they're underestimating Mizzou. But then, just about everyone is.

Tim,
Welcome to the site .... Missouri is like the Arkansas of the Big 12. Every time you think the Tiger are going to have a down year, they're much better than expected. On paper, though, this would be T.J.'s best job done in a while if he can get to a regional with the returning staff and lineup he has.

I know he seemed a little concerned about the team when I saw him at the coaches convention, but also felt like the team had the right attitude.

New game times for the USC tournament.

LOS ANGELES -- Due to impending rain in the Los Angeles area this weekend, the times for the USC Baseball Tournament at Dedeaux Field have been revised. All times are subject to change and fans are advised to go online at usctrojans.com for any changes in this weekend's schedule:

Friday (February 18)
Cal Poly vs. Missouri - 10 a.m.
Cal Poly vs. North Carolina - 2 p.m.
USC vs. Missouri - 6 p.m.

Saturday (February 19)
USC vs. North Carolina - 7 p.m.

Sunday (February 20)
Cal Poly vs. North Carolina - 10 a.m.
USC vs. Cal Poly - 3 p.m.

If Saturday's game is rained out, USC and North Carolina would play at 3 p.m. on Sunday with USC and Cal Poly then playing at 7 p.m.

Looks like rain is going to be a major issues out there all weekend. I know it can vary with how far inland or close to the coast you are, but for L.A. proper right now:

FRIDAY: 60% chance of rain
SATURDAY: 70% chance of rain
SUNDAY: Partly Coudy

I'm absolutely certain that no one on the UNC coaching staff is underestimating Missouri (or either of the 2 other teams, as well). It stands to reason that if you're playing a consensus pick for a post-season trip to Omaha (Fullerton) you pitch your Friday night guy.

Best of luck to Missouri this season.

The schedule has been changed for that tournament. Details on the USC schedule page (don't read the USC press release - they got it wrong)
