A place for discussion of the remaining games, now that the Beavers, Tigers, and other teams favored by the fans on PG have been eliminated.

UCLA-UNC game Friday. Another bad call at first. The inning-ending 6-4-3 double play: Runner was safe at first. By a lot.

And as much as I love Conforto to J-Rod as a 7-2 double-play combo, that big guy from the SherfyDawgs was safe at the plate this afternoon too. Yes, the throw was there before the runner, but it was high, and Jake's tag was not right in front of the dish, as it should have been.

Some questionable umpire calls so far.

It's cool to see some orange shirts in the crowd for the UCLA-UNC game. Some guy off left behind home plate has a BEAVER NATION shirt. Way to represent!

UCLA's infield looks pretty solid. Two great defensive plays in the 5th.

UCLA has a unique way of playing baseball. They just chip away and win ballgames. They remind me of Oregon in a way but with a little better pitching. Two of the greatest hitting teams this year in LSU and NC cannot touch this staff. Glad an SEC team is in the finals though I cant stand Miss St. Ill have to root for the conference though. It will be their first title if they can win it so they would definitely deserve it.

With a 4-0 lead, it doesn't look like UCLA can be topped. They've matched tonight their run total in their first two wins. I think this championship is now UCLA's to lose. I don't know if MSU can do any better than LSU or UNC against Plutko and Vander Tuig.

Congrads UCLA!!!
Last time a #1 seed won it all under current format was Miami 1999. Seeds go 0-8.
Now it is up to UCLA to bring another National Championship to the Pac.

Yeah, but I would safely say that MSU is the hottest hitting team right now. Look at Moore- He was masterful versus the majority of teams he faced. I just think MSU is hitting that well. If MSU you scores 4 or 5 runs a game versus ucla.. I think they win.

I was impressed with MSU bullpen. If they continue pitching like they did against OSU... they will be tough to beat. I think MSU wins 2 out of 3 against UCLA.

I hope that is the case. While I usually root for Pac-12, it would be nice if the only team to beat us in the CWS won it all. That, and it would help our chances of ranking 2nd or 3rd in the final poll, rather than 4th.

Rankings of 2 through 4 are hardly important in the scheme of things. I would rather the Pac take home a trophy so when next year's postseason comes around the committee will send more than 4 teams to the regionals. We could be next years Zona or Stanford. 4 Pac-12 teams went to regionals 17 ACC and SEC schools did, while we made up half the final four and half the Champ series... That should be what sets the tone for next year, while us losing to the possible champs won't be more than a footnote if that.

UCLA up 1-0 in the first. It's over. UCLA wins 1-0.

Purple and lavender. Barf....

Every year, Hershiser wears those old lady colors. Now he has the senile guy and Kyle Peterson sporting these pastels as well. Can we get some guys in the booth who dress like men for a change? What's wrong with blue?

Kramer beat the pitcher to first. UCLA gets robbed by a poor call first.

The game is playing out pretty much as I expected. I hope the earlier chances that UCLA had in the game don't come back to haunt them.

The old geezer and now Hershiser keep calling Girodo "Gerardo". Don't they have a player name pronunciation sheet in the broadcast booth?

Just how you started the thread - a bad call on first. While it was a very close play, anything close to a tie should go to the runner.

One more game, Vander Tuig tomorrow, for UCLA's first baseball championship.
