Well, I took in the OU/William & Mary doubleheader yesterday, and saw the same ol' Sooners. Spotty pitching but a potent offense -- those new bats had no impact here! Garrett Buechele and Max White have picked up from where they left off last season.

I was interested to see Burch Smith, the Sooners' juco recruit. At first, it looked like he was just going to blow away the Tribe -- he was hitting the low 90s and struck out the side in the first inning. Then, he got rocked in the second inning for 3 runs. I don't think he was quite the same afterwards, and he really couldn't keep his velocity up for the five innings he lasted. Still, he didn't give up another earned run, and he avoided the loss once the Sooners got their offense on track.
