The WCC has had a down year and doesn't get a lot of love, but both USF and Gonzaga continue to play solid baseball, and are clearly the class of the WCC this season. Gonzaga (11-3) is percentage points ahead of USF (13-4), and has 7 WCC games left to the Don's 4. The WCC crown looks like it will come down to a final weekend series between these two teams... couldn't have been scripted better.

The Dons and Bulldogs have basically proven that they are much better teams than the rest of those in the WCC this year if you are looking at records. Both of these teams are battle tested and have played difficult schedules thus far (Kendall, do you disagree?), playing tight contests, or winning, against very good teams.

Kendall, do you see either of these teams as a potential dark horse 4 seed in a regional? Who do you see coming out on top- and lastly- besides Cody Martin and Stephen Yarrow, who are some key players from either squad that have likely gone unnoticed by the rest of the baseball world this year?

The coaches from both these squads should be applauded for their campaigns thus far

Tough break for USF losing Lujan for the season a couple of days ago.

Gonzaga will be a 3 seed at Corvallis if they take care of business the rest of the way with a mid 50's RPI going into today.

The all LHP of Gonzaga of Carpenter, Gonzales and Olson will be trouble for a team that has lots of LH hitting. Their catcher Edman will probably get strong consideration for WCC player of the year.

Losing Lujan definitely hurts, but San Francisco continues to win, and are 15-3 at home this season.

This WCC race is coming down to the wire between Gonzaga and USF, and should be an exciting one... Kendall, hopefully you could give some kind of preview of a series that will decide a regional team, and potential dark horse? I would love to hear your take on these teams as they near the final stretch.

Gonzaga just lost to a 90 RPI Oregon.. We may be the most underrated team playing right now. Too bad we lost too many close games.

San Francisco certainly has gone through some adversity, so we'll see how it responds. I think Gonzaga has the starting pitching on the weekend and reliever (Cody Martin) to make some noise in an NCAA Regional. Should be an itneresting series next weekend. I, too, think there's a good chance Gonzaga elevates its status to a No. 3 seed before things are all said and done, especially if there are some upsets in conference tournaments.
