UALR??????

For those of you, like me, who were wondering who he heck is UALR, I've included a link below. It's a shame a school with a 24-32 record gets into the tournament.

We weren't much better when we traveled out here to Gainesville last year. Better, but not by much

Building the Dam is holding a Bracket Challenge and any of you guys are welcome to join. Just leave your picks in the comments section and root for them throughout the tournament. Winner gets a front page post on BTD.

Here we go. DM, I wanted to let you know that I made my picks while sitting at McMennemins Edgefield. You were my inspiration. It's been awhile since I had the sampler. My favorite is Hammerhead, followed closely by the Terminator. I'm counting on 4 Pac 10 teams to advance to the Super Regionals. I hope the Beavs win in 3, but wouldn't be disappointed if they had to play on Monday so I can catch at least one of the games.

ARIZ 2-2

ASU 3+Fork Off Razorbacks will be tough & looking for revenge from last years Super. Considering ASU's inconsistant play I would not be suprised if the Razorbacks win the regional.

CAL 1-2 Baylor/Rice will be too much for the Golden Bears.

OSU 3+ Do not take Georgia for granted. It will be a mistake.

STAN 2-2

UCLA 3-0 They are now on a mission.

I usually don't pick well in these things, probably because I know less about the competition and
overvalue familiar conference foes and their strengths. Nonetheless, I feel pretty bullish on the
conference's chances. I don't see Stanford or Cal advancing, but I think they can take one from the
host. Arizona I give a 50-50 chance to beat aTm. They have the bats, but after Heyer and Simon,
I don't know if they have the arms.

Ariz 3+
ASU 3-0
Cal 3+
OSU 3-0
Stan 3+
UCLA 3-0

Had to edit my post so it could be seen. Bob, we ned to remove your wide beer pic or something...

i find myself in a very similar position to DM. not being familiar with the other teams and being a PAC10 homer i tend to overvalue the teams im familiar with, but that said here it goes

Ariz 2-2 (will beat seton hall twice and lose to aTm twice)
ASU 3-0 ( i really dont see them losing to any of these teams especially at home)
Cal 2-2 (after beating baylor, cal will surprise rice in the first game before losing two to them in the championship)
osu 3+ (after backing into a regional host that with the way we ended the season not sure we really deserved, the beavs will waltz past UALR beat creighton then lose 1 to georgia before winning it all on monday)
stan 3+ stanford will beat Kstate, lose to CSF beat Kstate again, then with appelt pitching will take 1 from CSF before losing on monday)
UCLA 3-0 (even though this is the "regional of Death" i think the bruins are starting to peak and should take care o business at home)

so i have 3 pac10 teams making it to the supers ASU OSU and UCLA

going more in depth cuz hey why not:
i think ASU can easily take 2 of 3 from anyone in the austin regional home or away
if OSU can get some help from Okst, troy or belmont and host a super regional they should be able to take care of business. if vandy wins though i dont think the beavs have the confidence to take 2 of 3 on the road right now (that might change if they sweep through the regional)
with UCLA going against the #1 overall seed in virgina (who wont lose at home in the regional, not gonna happen) i dont think they have the horses to win 2 games, i think they will win 1 out there, but not 2.

so when its all said and done i think 1 MAYBE 2 pac10 teams will make it to the new TD ameritrade park in Omaha for the CWS. the only downside to that though is that both OSU and ASU would be in the same side of the bracket so wouldnt be able to play each other for the natl championship (could work out that when they play its for a spot in the championship series, but wont be for the title)

ok so after all that, in this order it is GO BEAVS, GO PAC10 & GO ANYONE BUT VANDY!!!

ISR Probabilities

Boyd has his probabilities out. Before you Beaver fans freak out, you have to understand that these
are based on each team's ISR for every level of the competition until you get to that 2.0% chance
for OSU to win the NC. The percentages will all change after the first round, when we will get at
least one or two upsets. The important thing is to look at what our projected chances are for this
round. Oregon State has a 72% chance of advancing. The SEC darling that the Rivals board has
already crowned the regional winner has an 11% chance, less than Creighton (who looks more
impressive to me on paper anyway).

All Pac-10 teams
ASU: 80.2%
OSU: 71.8%
UCLA: 34.0%
Ariz: 28.6%
Stan: 23.8%
Cal: 17.4%
