This going to be an unbelievable kick off to the L.A. regional. UCI's pitcher is coming off back-to-back shut outs (2-hitter, then no-hitter) and FSU's Gonzalez has been amazing all year.

What kind of pitcher is Gonzo? Summers is power w/+change-up, slider

There is certainly not much written about Greg Gonzales, nor is he on anyone's list of top pitchers. His first appearance as a Bulldog in 2010 resulted in a no-hitter against Hawaii, on the road. His record this year was only 11-0 in 15 starts, an ERA of 1.43 with 121 K's in 100.2 innings, not great but adequate. Easy to see why he's on no one's list.

Pretty funny rec1347..
yeah..Gonzalez is on nobody's radar but has been nothing short of phenomenal..Sounds like Summers is a stud as well. Gonzalez will not overpower Irvine with his fastball but is as good a pitcher out there at locating and using his strengths..he's a pitcher..not a thrower..he gets ahead in the count and has a very good instinct at putting hitters away.
Heard much about Summers..What's your take on him? Sounds like he's had really good stuff lately..
