At noon today UCLA kicks off what could be its 1st National Championship in baseball against San Francico.
What will the bullpen look like by the time Pac 10 play begins?
It is wide open at this point.
Look for Scott Griggs to be this years closer, it is a must that we find out who can be counted on to finish with gusto.
The rest of the club is looking solid.
Don't miss these guys if you have an opportunity.
They are something special.
PLAY BALL!
Good luck to all!

It'll be interesting to see how UCLA will deal with all the hype surrounding them heading into the season. Something that haven't done well with in the past.

Either way, they have the best 1-2 punch in the nation with Bauer and Cole and we should see this team in Omaha again this year.

Good luck on the season Bruins.

Only saw Beacom against two batters today, but he looked solid. It's only one game so it's hardly a conclusion that he's going to be great, but Vander Tuig looked sensational today. Showed no nerves in his first collegiate appearance and needed only seven pitches to finish off USF. With Plutko on the mound tomorrow we should get a look at more of the bullpen. There's a ton of talent down there, but Beacom is the closest thing to proven and he only had a few dozen innings under his belt.

Plutko definitely looked better then I had expected him to today. UCLA's pitching all weekend looked great. Combined 1 unearned.
