I will be doing a weekly look at each team's ace with their season statistics. If you see your team and you think your ace is someone different than I have for your team please let me know. I went off statistics look at the weekend starters so far. As far as a top 4 pitchers based purely on statistics and nothing else (even competition):
1. Brian Johnson UF
2. Chris Stratton MSU
3. Derrick Varnadore AU
4. Steven Gruver UT

I know a lot will say look at the frosh at UF(his stats are nasty as well) but only one pitcher from each team will be represented.

East:

Florida: Brian Johnson W-L: 2-0, IP: 12, ERA: 0.00, B Avg: 0.081, SO: 11
Vanderbilt: Sonny Gray W-L: 2-0, IP: 10.1, ERA: 3.48, B Avg: 0.189, SO: 12
South Carolina: Tyler Webb W-L: 2-0, IP: 13.1, ERA: 0.00, B Avg: 0.159, SO: 11
Kentucky: Alex Meyer W-L 1-1, IP: 12, ERA: 3.00, B Avg: 0.158, SO: 20
Georgia: Michael Palazzone W-L 0-1, IP: 9, ERA: 4.00, B Avg: 0.324, SO: 8
Tennessee: Steven Gruver W-L 2-0, IP: 13, ERA: 0.00, B Avg: 0.222, SO: 18

West:
Auburn: Derrick Varnadore W-L 2-0, IP: 16, ERA: 0.00, B Avg: 0.094, SO: 17
Alabama: Nathan Kilcrease W-L 1-0, iP: 10.1, ERA: 5.34, B Avg: 0.282, SO: 11
LSU: Kurt McCune W-L 2-0, IP: 12, ERA: 0.75, B Avg: 0.119, SO 10
Arkansas: Brandon Moore W-L 2-0, IP: 12, ERA: 0.75, B Avg: 0.150, SO: 8
Ole Miss: Matt Crouse W-L 2-0, IP: 13, ERA: 2.77, B Avg: 0.245, SO: 11
Miss St.: Chris Stratton W-L 2-0, IP: 13.2, ERA: 0.00, B Avg: 0.200 SO: 23

LSU's ace is most definitely Kevin Gausman. True freshman. 7th round draft pick. Has hit 98 already. One of the top college prospects for 2012 draft class.

At this point in their careers I would say that Michael Roth is more of South Carolina's ace than Tyler Webb. Webb has loads of potential and Roth is your traditional ace, but he is the Friday starter right now.

Stork,I thought I heard at one point that Webb would be the Friday night guy eventually this season, with Roth moving to Saturday. That was before opening day though so Ray may stick with Roth on Friday. Either way I like our Friday Sat starters. Hopefully Westy can have a solid year and solidify his role as the 3 guy
