Since Oregon State is a two seed in the #16 regional, does that mean they are just one spot away from climbing into hosting contention?

Some other q's if you have time:

How many wins do the Beavers need in their final seven (Portland, 3 @ Washington State, and 3 vs Oregon) to host?

How many wins does Portland need in their final ten (@ Oregon State, @ Washington, 3 @ Gonzaga, Oregon, @ Oregon, 3 @ Seattle U) to make the field?

Thanks!

Connor, thanks for the questions.

1) There's not a "No. 16" Regional. The NCAA only seeds 1-8, so that's the way I approach things, too. Yes, it's silly, but it is what it is. OSU is behind a couple of teams in the hosting mix right now, as the RPI is not its friend at this point with an RPI of 33 right now. That must improve.

2) If the Beavers can take care of Portland win their final two series, they might can get an RPI that will put it squarely in the hosting mix...... remember, a lot of it hinges on what OSU's opponent do, as well.

3) Portland has a lot of work to do right now. The Pilots have an RPI of 97 .... they're going to have to run the table and hope LMU stumbles, and the committee gets generous.
