i agree there. they were able to split a 2 game set with defending natl champs Arizona this week so they do know how to win games agains marquee opponents. can not afford to take anyone lightly. that is the beauty of baseball that on any day a team that by rights should be totally overmatched can put it together and surprise you.
Dodger Matt wrote:

Today was at least the second time Jay Reese referred to Texas State as a Southland Conference team, but they are in the WAC this year. Yes, they were a Southland power, but so far this year, they are 4-7 and right in the middle of the middling WAC conference standings. Watch how the Bobcats do against the WAC's top-ranked 9-3 UTSA Tuesday before claiming they are a legitimate threat to OSU unbeaten record. Yes, it could happen. I must have hit that HTML button by accident cuz my post got erased.

I had said that most Beaver fans expected a sweep, but I was surprised (and probably not alone in that) by the great pitching by Bryant and the team's overall toughness. Bryant should have won game one, and I expect a great performance by the Bulldogs in NEC play. Hope you guys win the conference championship and make the D1 postseason.

If we don't lose one to Texas State we could drop one to SF who destroyed Arizona 9-2 @ Arizona today. Those midweek games are tricky because you are putting your #4/#5 on the mound and you don't want to go deep in your bullpen as Pac12 season opens on the road against Arizona 2 days later....

Florida Beaver wrote:

Nice...12-0.
Sorenson gives OSU a dishonorable mention on last night's game. (He's right.)

"LSU and Oregon State. The two national powers needed some divine providence to beat two schools from Providence tonight. Tigers relied on that old Alex Box Magic to subdue Brown 4-3 in jog-off fashion. Just a reminder here, but this was Brown’s first game of the season. Out in the Pacific Northwest, the Beavers had to go to an extra frame to finally beat Bryant, 2-1. And no, that’s not Bear Bryant we’re talking about."

Good to have this game out of our system. We played in a close game where the other team had every break but one. Their pitcher was great (they used their ace Friday, right?) while ours had an off night and was decent instead of great-- but we still hung on and won a close gritty one. Good quality win.

yeah but when your brother in law is the president of the freaking United States, youre not exactly an easy fire. and Robinson has at least gotten a few winning seasons out of his teams, which is more than can be said for any coach since Payne.... but yes this season has been an extreme dissapointment

BeaverBob wrote:

Yep, that was him.
Yeah, they were good. The Beavers were lucky to get the win. That misplayed fly to rightfield that led to their unearned run was Bryant's doom. Unfortunate for them because they played great baseball the whole game. Very tense bottom of the 10th.
