I wasn't sure what to expect from Stanford this weekend after watching the UO series. It seemed like Stanford lost that series instead of the Ducks winning it. Then, the Cardinal played well last weekend. However, thus far, the Beavers are not just winning, but beating up Stanford. 8-0 Beavers in the bottom of the 6th.

Wouldn't you agreee RD?

BG, we are going to have to agree to disagree. I dislike the Ducks so much that I hope they lose every game in every sport.

Well I mean if Oregon wins every game left like that then they would be champs. I think both teams have done extremely well and I really couldn't pick a favorite. If I had to pick the series for next week though I would say OSU 2-1. I think OSU is playing better RIGHT NOW but Oregon is a beast and either team is good enough to win it all. Neither team got where they are by mistake that's for sure.

as much as it may annoy my fellow beavers here, I would love nothing more than to have a CW for the national title, I have been saying it since halfway last year when the Ducks began to look like they were a legit team. That is why I am rooting for the Ducks to take care of business against all their opponents (except us) to make sure that they have a national seed and so long as they stay on the other side of the bracket from us.

He gave the ump a couple of nasty looks and may have said something to him after he struck out. The ump followed him back to the dugout and threw him out.

Conforto has had so many opportunties over the last couple of days, but can't seem to get it down. Up, with baseloaded, no outs, and hits one to the pticher.

Ohio State is just not a good team or they have a really bad coach. For about the fourth time they hit into a double play -- this time with runneres on 1st and 3rd and no outs. This coach must be totally against any type of small ball.

A few interesting tidbits from the OSU Beavers.com

"The Beavers reached two milestones with Saturday's victory. First, Oregon State improved to 40-8 on the year, becoming the second team in school history to reach the 40-win plateau during the regular season. The 2005 club was the first, going 41-9.Second, Oregon State improved to 19-4 in Pac-12 Conference play. The 2013 Beavers are now tied with the 2005 Beavers for the most victories in league play since the then-Pac-10 unified in 1999. The 1993 Beavers hold the single-season record with 20 wins in Pac-10 North play."

Holy Dust Devils
I haven't been on top let alone win a week since last year. Even thought it is mid series numbers it makes me feel a little bit better. This is why I don't wager money on sports!
I've been getting Gavel here this year.

Wow. F, I'm never quite sure who to believe. According to Kendall, your Devils, Arizona, and Stanford need to step up to get a post season birth. Personally, I'd think that all three of these teams are a lock unless they just fall apart. What are your thoughts?

Great to have you stuck with us. During football season, a local Portland sports radio station has a guy come on from the SE Conference. He is called the SE Guy. He is some type of doctor. He is very entertaining and brings to bear all of the southern stereotypes. I actually love the southern culture, but here in the NW, it doesn't always fit well.

I noticed. I was hoping that if I just ignored RD's unsubstantiated discussion, it might go away. OM, if this were a debate, you would win hands down. An argument full of blah, blah, blah, against an argument supported with facts and data.

He's not even the best Freshman pitcher within the conference, not the best within the state of Oregon, not even the best within 50 miles of Eugene.

And now for some facts RD...(this was as of yesterday...note that both Moore and Irvin picked up 10 wins today...it just took Irvin an extra game )

LSU Blake, here is a link for info on the SEC guy including a podcast. I just absolutely love him. He in politically incorrect, hates the liberal lifestyle of the NW, and says whatever is on his mind.

DAY TWO RECAP

OREGON STATE 10 STANFORD 4

Andrew Moore scattered six hits and two runs over six innings and Dylan Davis drove in five runs to send the sixth-ranked Oregon State baseball team to a 10-4 win over No. 25 Stanford Saturday at Sunken Diamond.

Cal snagged 3 more in the 4th including two runs courtesy of wild pitches.
Both teams then settled down putting zeros on the board until the top of the 8th inning when Casey Coffman blasted a 2-2 pitch over the right field wall with runners on 1st and 2nd to tie the game at 9, then in the 9th inning James McDonald took the second pitch he saw yard in Right Center to put the Devils up 10-9. Civil War Wager!

BeaverBob
BeaverBob
RD and Beaver Nation, I'd like to propose that we have a wager for the upcoming Civil War. If you and others from Beaver Nation think it worthy, the first order of business is to determine the wager parameters and the bet. For example, there are 4 games coming up between the two teams. The most obvious bet is the team that wins the most games is the winner. If the teams tie at 2-2, then we can look at run differential.

Now, regarding the bet. One suggestion is that the loser has to wear clothing with a prominent logo from the winner's team for a full day and have a picture taken and posted to the PG forum. Another option is to have the loser write an essay on why the winner is a superior team and college.

We can also get the non-Beaver State fans involved (If you aren’t aware, the Beaver is the State of Oregon Animal). Perhaps, they can pick a side and be honorary Beavers or Ducks and they will need to suffer the same punishment described above.

What say you? What other suggestions come to mind?
