2013 CBB Attendance Figures

Oregon State and more recently Oregon have been drawing very good crowds for a decade or more. Not SEC level attendance, but when compared to California schools, incredibly high. When you consider the weather and the fact that Corvallis is far away from a big metropolis (Eugene is big enough to be considered its own metropolis), these two are exemplary.

Additionaly, most Pac teams are in VERY competative sports markets.....compared to lets say Louisiana or Arkansas. However, kudos to schools like Arkansas who have such additional attractions such as the Diamond Girls...and as I understand it some/most of the other SEC teams really try to enhance the game expierence as the Razorbacks do whereas the Pac schools I have been to do not.

I wonder too, how much drive time to the ball field plays in attendance. I have season tickets and live 90 minutes away from OSU. I catch 60 to 70% of the home games, but really don't like to drive back and forth for each game. I'll often make it a weekend and just stay in Corvallis.

With the traffic congestion and spraul in the LA area, I imagine it is a nightmare trying to get to ball games, especially on a Friday night.

Dylan is hitting again like he did for most of the regular season. He has hit three homers in his first three games in the Cape Cod League including a Grandslam.

He is playing for the new Hillsboro Hops teams. I'm surprised how much his stock dropped in the last few weeks of the season. At one point, he was going to go in the top three rounds.

Ya, he seemed to have a melt down. I have a 5-game ticket pass to the Hillsboro Hops and hope I can see him pitch. The Hops have a very poor pitching staff and they are hoping Sherfy can give them a lift. I've heard the stadium is really nice -- and, they serve a variety of different beers -- just what I live for Sorry ASU74, no St Pauli Girl.

Well, we killed him in the CW and then he didn't do so well in the regionals.

Fred, glad to see that the Devils are keeping their baseball team When is the OSU series? Would be fun to travel down and get some sunshine.

After the Beavs loss to Eastern Washington in Football this last Saturday, I'm already looking forward to baseball season.

Saw your post & got excited....thought you guys had posted your schedule. Still waiting for our guys to post the expanded schedule....need that to make reservations to see the OSU at ASU series.

Don't feel baaaad. A friend of mine from Starkville made the treck to Houston last week to see his Bulldogs get smacked by (the other) OSU.

Fred, I'm serious about coming down to watch the ASU series. I do some work in the Phoenix area and will either try to time it to turn it into a business trip or just make a vacation of it.

I played in a golf tournament last week and won a trip to watch the Beavers play in Berkeley against the Bears. I'm going to have to dig out my Birkenstocks and dig out my old hippie sunglasses before I go.

I use to spend a week in the Arizona watching Spring Practice and really miss getting away and watching baseball.

No ****? I will be closing on my new Scottsdale address next week & relocating in February. Where is DM moving to?

BB, I think Fred has lost it. I read where you told him DM is moving to Arizona. Then Fred asks where DM is moving to. I think his comprehension skills took a hit in the off-season.

FB, Fred is suffering from St Pauli Girl syndrome The lack of comprehension skills is just one symptom. Moving to Scottsdale is another symptom.

Fred, I think DM is moving or has already moved to the Phoenix area to be closer to his kids. What a good dad.

I'm planning on heading down to watch the OSU series. Let's plan on getting together.

Yes, Fred, I'm down here already, edge of Tempe and Chandler. And I learned when the Beavs released their schedule that the ASU series would again be in Corvallis in 2014, so I was bummed. But I noticed two things: Oregon State will be in the Valley of Deathly Hellish 110-Degree Temperatures for the first two weekends of the season, playing eight games from Feb 14 to 24. I'm gonna catch a couple of those. Then they play the Cats in Tucson the last weekend in March, so I told my wife we're going for one of those games and spend the day in Arizona's version of Eugene. And, with two kids attending ASU, I won't have any reservations rooting against the "home" team in Tucson.

Bob, if you plan to be here for one of those February games, let me know.

Will do DM.

Oregon State's best player and last year's Pac 12 Player of the year is no where to be found (Michael Conforto). I went back and looked at NCBWA's All Americans from last year and he wasn't listed on any of their teams. What kind of outfit is this?

Fred, have you considered changing your name to Valley ASU74? You and DM should consider moving in together and becoming a couple now that he is also a Valley guy

On a more serious note, I'm planning on coming to the Valley of the Sun and mixing some work with a few Beaver baseball games. I need to make a decision in the next day or so regarding when I come down and the games I see. I'm curious as to your recommendation -- I'm thinking I'd like to watch a couple of games at the tournament in Surprise. However, I'm also thinking about catching the Monday, Feb 17th game in Tempe and the Fri, Sat, Sun games in Surprise.

Are you familiar with both stadiums? I have a house I can stay in for free in Phoenix, but I'm also looking at a few hotel options. Any suggestions? My organization will pay for my travel and hotel. I'm also trying to talk Ophiman into coming down and watching a game or two.

DM, are you planning on attending any of these games?

Fred, I left you a PM. I ended up in jury duty for several days and then had an out of town funeral. I'm still looking at next week's games. After tons of snow, ice, and a bunch of rain, 80+ degree days are looking really nice.
