Considering the late inning disasters.. we should be 3-0. Good to see madison step up like he did in the last year. He is such a competitor and fun to watch. Thinking he may be our opener or #2 guy. Need to find a good closer.. McGough needs to get back in a groove next week. I think he will be fine. Hawaii made it to their regional final last year- they are tough, plus playing outside year round helps too. We get two, and we are better off than last year, and we won 40. Go Ducks!

Yeah- I am a hard core duck fan, and at times shake my head at some of the decisions made by Horton and company. The fishbowl that this team has found itself in has created alot of people who want this team to fail. This year is going to be much tougher to do the things we did last year, because we are now expected to win. Part of his philosophy seems that if you expect to win, you will. Look at Oregon State. I feel that we actually have more pressure than OSU. They have to pretty much have to be in the top of the pac, and make it to a super, or the team had a bad year and the coach made bad decisions. The amount of freshman playing, lack of a true catcher with experience, and some key pitchers leaving- I think Horton was pulling out the stops within the gray area. You were there and I was not, but just going by my gut feeling was getting out of that house. Hawaii always plays us tough, and they are a good team. Heck- they made their regional final last year, so I expected a battle. Things should start to smooth out once they play a few more games. I really enjoy your posts, and understanding of the game- just glad this season is underway, and I have really enjoyed all the successes of the teams in our division. Going to be a fun few months.- Oh the travel thing does trouble me too. Why did they not schedule the game earlier?

Yeah, If my memory serves me right OSU mowed through their pre pac schedule like nobody's business last year as well. We will see how things roll once the pac schedule begins.

Hey- I can hack on my team as well. I thought it was kind of interesting seeing Housey get it trouble.. no one warming up in the ninth. Two trips to the mound.. two step offs, ss visit, and someone in the bullpen throwing a ball out of the pen to disrupt the game. Baseball is a pretty interesting/complex game. Also think it is great with Horton mixing it up with the freshman.. if you don't perform, yank time. Pulfer came in after being benched and hit a home run. Classic. How many broken arms/wrists do we have to endure.

oh yeah, and our bullpen is dicey, and our best hitter is a freshman. I am feeling pretty good with where we are at right now. It can only get better.

Sorry about last week for not posting this. I had a few mid terms in school and was incredibly busy so this week I'm starting this early!

#8 Arizona State v. Oral Roberts(3)
#13 Arizona v. San Francisco(3)
#16 UCLA @ Cal Poly(3)
#18 Stanford v. Michigan(3)
Washington @ #20 Cal State Fullerton(3)
Washington State @ #25 Fresno State(4)
#27 California v. Ohio State(3)
#28 Oregon @ San Diego(4)
#30 Oregon State @ Long Beach State(3)
Southern Cal v. Pacific(3)

#8 Arizona State 2-1: ASU plays a 2 game series against Oklahoma during the week so I think they made be a little gassed from those games and won't be able to complete the sweep against Oral Roberts.

#13 Arizona 3-0: Arizona is on fire so far this year but it has been against mediocre competition so I think there streak continus against mediocre competition.

#16 UCLA 2-1: UCLA has struggled this year but I still feel they will win the series against Cal Poly.

#18 Stanford 2-1: Home series against a quality big ten opponent will be tough and if they had mooneyham, they would have the sweep.

Washington 0-3: Huskies are having a terrible start and it should get worse when they visit Cal State Fullerton.

Washington State 3-1: Toughest matchup yet for the Cougs but I think they show they can play with the Bulldogs and win this series when Chad Arnold returns.

#27 California 2-1: Cal is red hot but they'll trip up on one game against Nick Swisher's alma mater.

#28 Oregon 1-3: The Ducks are the biggest disappointment so far this season and San Diego is a tough team that will take the series at home.

#30 Oregon state 2-1: The Beavers are off to a great start and it will continue.

Southern Cal 2-1: Home series for the Trojans equals a win.

Hey- Yeah, the ducks have had their problems, but the biggest disappointment? Two years ago they only won 14.. They have won 10 this year, with tons of expectations. They should be just fine.

Was worried that San Diego was going to have a break out series. Looks like they are coming to life, but our bats seem to be thawing out a little. As for our bullpen, we just don't have a dominant closer yet. I think we have some potential, but until we can hold a close lead, I will have nightmares. I still am playing back that catastrophic loss in Washington last year. Until that, we will play second fiddle to that team up north.

I do want OSU to stay on top to help us with our RPI woes, but feel they are over-inflated. Their downfall commences. But again I am just a bitter duck fan. lol.

Ariz 2-1

River, I need you to clarify that OSU score. WSU 1-2 is not an option. Do you mean WSU 2-1 or OSU 2-1?

Well, I can finally say that the Ducks are playing their brand of ball right now. Just a little to late IMO. Anyway a series win against AZ is a first (recently). I was worried about AZ stacked bats, but I feel our pitchers controlled them pretty well. And a bonus, having us win and the northern club lose on the same day just makes things sweet. You guys had a great streak, but like all good things, they must end. Hopefully this will be a swing in the right, and wrong direction for both clubs. But you guys still won the series, so good job.

Oh- we should start a poll to see if the ducks RPI will break 75 from 112. Heck who even knows how the RPI thing works, but winning a series against a 34 should help. Who will it help or hurt more.. comments?
