Trevor Penny is a 2009 C/1B with a 6'1'', 200 lb. frame from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA who attends Palos Verdes Peninsula. Penney has a medium plus frame with a strong thick build. Defensively, Penny has some arm strength with carry on his throws down to second base. He has a good arm action and his arm works well. Penny has soft hands behind the plate and has good receiving skills. He moves well from side to side and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Penny starts with a straight stance and gets a good load. He steps out some on his stride and hits off his front foot. Penny maintains good balance in his swing and gets extension out front. He has some strength in his swing and has some good raw power potential. Penny took some real good game swings and hit some balls really hard. Penny is an outstanding student.
