2003 Spring Showcase
Prignitz is an unsigned senior with lots to offer the College that he ends up at. He is a 5'8, 170 pound winner. He showed the ability to hit good pitching by attacking fastballs early in the count and he has other tools that will play him in the outfield at a good Junior College. He made some outstanding defensive plays in the field at the Midwest showcase and has speed that translates to baseball. He ran a 6.80 in the 60 and can run the bases and cover outfield turf. If he got better jumps on the pitcher he could end up with a pile of stolen bases. He threw with 80 mph velocity from right field and is an aggressive player that will leave it all out on the field for his team. His left-handed bat seems to find the ball and we have seen him hit average and power but he is short to the ball and did not try to do too much, making good contact with enough juice to punch the gaps. He is a player !
