We've seen Leffler more than any catcher in high school baseball. He is one of the best catch and throw receivers in America. He has a plus arm that is super quick. His throws have big league carry and big league velocity. He is getting bigger and stronger, but still moves like a cat behind the plate. It's real simple with Leffler... If he hits, he's an early draft pick. That's the only question mark. In Ft Myers he showed the additional strength he's gained has helped in the wood bat power department. He showed some extra bat speed, but has a tendency to come around the ball at times. Scott loves to play and really competes. He's a tough kid who plays hard. If the bat has a good Spring he could be in pro ball soon. If not, he will be one of the best college catchers in the country as only a freshman.

Leffler is one of the best throwing catchers we have seen in high school baseball. His pop times and velocity readings are great. He does have a tendency to over rush his transfer at times. This causes some problems that he does not need with his arm strength. As a hitter he flashes power potential and some bat speed. He projects to get much stronger and his bat will be the major benefactor of that. A good tough catcher with an awful lot going for him.

As the top catch and throw receiver in the underclassmen showcase, Leffler showed us some of the best pop times in his class. He was quick behind the plate, had a fast but controlled transfer and showed mid 80’s velocity on his throw to 2B. He popped a 1.87 twice with good straight carry to the bag. He also swung the bat with some authority and flashed good hitting ability. He has a good body and looks like there is power potential in his bat.

Leffler displayed one of the strongest arms in the event. He receives well and has improved his bat-speed and hitting ability. He could have the quickest arm in the Nation from behind the plate. He has a strong body and flashed some power potential. One of the better catch/throw guys in his class.

Scott Leffler was one of the top catchers in Ft. Myers. He can really catch and throw. He has a strong accurate arm to go with quick feet and fast release. He hits from both sides of the plate and showed good swings. He wraps the wood a little and lunged at some pitches but he will hit with added strength and more ab's with wood. He can really play and is a catcher to follow closely in the 2003 class.
