Reid Okita is a 2008 RHP with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Honolulu, Hawaii, who attends the Punahou School. He is a lean player with a trim waist. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm circle on the back side. His arm works, and he has solid arm speed. Okita has smooth mechanics staying balanced over the rubber and he uses his legs well. He gets sinking action on his fastball that topped out at 80 mph, and he looks like he is going to throw harder in the future. He throws strikes with all of his pitches, and he has pitchability. Okita also throws a good breaking ball with 12/6 break and depth. He allowed only one hit during his 3 innings of work. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who takes an aggressive swing. He has solid swing mechanics. Okita is a young player with upside, and he is a good student as well.
