Ryan DeJesus is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Westlake Village, California, who attends Westlake High School. DeJesus has a nice build with a lean frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side. He hides the ball well showing a little deception. DeJesus has an early hand break. His fastball topped out at 78 mph, while working from 76-78 mph. He mixes in a 1/7 curveball at 63 mph, and he gets sinking action on his change at 69 mph. DeJesus throws strikes with all three pitches. Defensively he covers ground at first base. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from an average base with a no stride approach. He has a quiet swing and shows bat speed. DeJesus has projectable power, and gets extension out front. He has a good knowledge of the strike zone as well. DeJesus has two-way potential, and he is a good student.
