Jonas Noack is a 2009 RHP/1B with a 6'5'', 230 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends University City HS. He has a big, pro pitcher-type of body. Noack should be watched closely because he could make a HUGE leap at anytime, particularly on the mound. He has a long arm action and pitches from an over the top slot. For a big young man, Noack also has decent body control. His arm works with low effort and projects to get even stronger. As that happens look for his 81-84 mph fastball to improve and nudge toward the mid-uppper 80s. Noack also has a 72 mph curveball with some late action and he showed a changeup that is developing. At the plate he showed strong wrists and hands. Noack is a pull hitter with a long swing that generates some power. He swings the bat aggressively and does a nice job of keeping his barrel in the zone pretty well, particularly for a pull hitter. He sets up well and has the look of a hitter at the plate. At first base he showed soft hands around the bag. Noack does not quite yet have full mastery over his big body and as that starts to happen he could really come on. He is an excellent student too.
